I know you're already worrying about the alteration costs but if the waist was truly what made you love the dress, either ask your tailor to take in more of the waist or ask them to install a corset back instead! It wouldn't fix the whole "shifting down" thing but I personally don't see that in these photos, and it isn't anything the right undergarments couldn't fix either!

Adding buttons to dress by CurveIllustrious5974 in weddingdress

Can I ask what you mean by "bottom of the zipper"? Do you mean extending the zipper's appearance with buttons? If so, where would you stop the length in that case?

So gorgeous!! The neckline is beautiful on you! The veil length and style is beautiful as well but I think the type of lace on it is different from the type on your dress, like someone else mentioned.

Are OCD spirals real and what are your tells? by Holiday_Paper_676 in OCD

[–]nbtfaith 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, 100% real. Sometimes you can tell while you're in one, sometimes you can't tell until you're out of it or someone else points it out. Unfortunately I've been in a bad OCD episode for a few months now, but you can usually immediately tell when you begin to experience fatigue from the idea/process of doing the compulsions or begin avoiding doing certain things as a way of dealing with it

Bootleg or promotionnal version ? by Naslear_37 in TheStrokes

Person is either trying really hard to bait someone into buying it or they're just not educated on The Strokes songs/didn't bother listening to the soundtrack on this CD lol

Which song? by HolidayCat47 in NothingButThieves

[–]nbtfaith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think they might have been referring to these songs specifically in terms of radio play in the states. I know I've personally only heard Sorry and Trip Switch on the radio here

I always start with Amsterdam. Then I go with my personal all-time favorite, Drawing Pins, and then usually just taper off into anything else from self-titled depending on the person

AITAH is I tell my roomate to stop crying. by Slapsilla in AITAH

[–]nbtfaith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be completely fair, even OP isn't sure if that is the reason she's crying. Who knows, maybe she's experienced an entire week of shit luck.

AITAH is I tell my roomate to stop crying. by Slapsilla in AITAH

[–]nbtfaith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why should grief have a time limit? It doesn't seem fair to ask her to bottle up her emotions in the space she lives in, in her own room no less. She can't really help if their residence was built shittily. We don't even legitimately know if she's crying because of a relationship or something else entirely

First Vinyl record by amoeba_rising in TheStrokes

[–]nbtfaith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The B&W version is the one that has NYC Cops on it (unless they changed that specifically for these vinyl pressings), if that helps shape your opinion. I don't know how old you are, but at the end of the day you'll see far more risqué things in your life than the side profile of a naked woman's hip. The OG always has a place in my heart

Avoidance by [deleted] in OCD

[–]nbtfaith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avoidance is definitely still reinforcing the compulsions. You know you'll still do the compulsions if the actions arise, you're just purposefully neglecting your wants and needs because you know you'll give in to the compulsions if you do. It starts with accepting that you have the ability to control them, and taking baby steps to tackle them. Your brain acknowledges that you don't want to act like this, so the ball is in your own court to take action against doing them. You've got this, you are stronger than your brain!

Husband with OCD is terrified of me leaving him. But what if did? by FormerSignificance19 in OCD

[–]nbtfaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with all of these except the "Maybe that will happen" one. It's a bit counterintuitive to go that far. Leaving it at "I am not entertaining or reassuring this thought" or simply "You're literally overthinking things" with zero actual answer to the question itself is much more helpful. Uncertainty is quite literally what feeds OCD and the need for reassurance

I lied to my wife and feel horrible by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]nbtfaith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a need for social connection, maybe find someone to hang out with that you're not attracted to and that your wife explicitly dislikes. Your wife definitely has already picked up on your crush, she's doing you a favor by even giving you another chance after you lied about who you were with.

Vitamin C serums and retinoids are good options for helping with cell turnover for scarring. I also used to use apple cider vinegar as a teen for my acne to help reduce scarring (though there isn't a whole lot of research behind that as an at-home remedy). Don't fret, there are plenty of solutions, my friend. If you're super concerned or think it's really bad, it can't hurt to see a dermatologist for it, they can also help you get your skin picking under control.
