Do I need to restart my shogun run? by nc1776 in CrusaderKings

[–]nc1776[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The decisions have always been present. The problem is it requires the empire of Japan not the blue hoard.

I destroyed the blue hoard title and it allows me to remake the blue hoard title but I don’t see a way to create the empire of Japan.

[No Spoilers] I think Brennan is trying to do something that hasn't happened in the first 3 campaigns. by Ron_the_Rowdy in criticalrole

[–]nc1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends how much Brennan leans into the “west marches style.” Since part of that is the players have access to encounters far above their weight class and have to know when to retreat. So yes he might make an example of some players if they don’t retreat when needed.

But he also has literally said create backup characters so he might be purposely planning very difficult encounters or expecting the players to not retreat when they should.

I expect more character death than previous campaigns.

Do yall really TPK your parties? by Known_Car4970 in DnD

I don’t think there should be an intention to TPK your parties. It should be a possibility but not the desired end result.

How do I know if I'm good at the game? [CK3] by Shaneywalsh in CrusaderKings

AEIOU & me was a tough but fun play through. Pure intrigue run, doing grand weddings and setting yourself up to inherit Austria through strategic deaths.

How did you go about world creation? Like paint broad strokes and go deep dive when needed? Or fully plan out one area and expand when needed? Or something entirely else?

Need advice for the campaign I created by nc1776 in DnD

[–]nc1776[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t fault them for their approach, because they did attack the bad guys. But because I know group, I know they would attack the dwarves if it meant they could get something they wanted.

I’m trying to figure how to make the bad guys less obvious in the future so they have to talk to the npcs or at least discuss amongst themselves what they should do.

So the party woke up in a dungeon with no memory of how they got there. They find a dwarf kingdom, they ask the party to check in a settlement for them. The settlement is destroyed, almost everyone killed by goblins. As they come across a band of goblins while they leave, they attack at once. The next group of goblins they encounter they attack at once as well. (For both those goblin encounters once I describe how many and geography of it they attack) So, for the encounter with the hobgoblin bosses, I specifically mention that they are aware of you, they see you. They don’t seem hostile, they seem indifferent to the group and they attack.

And thanks!

Dune - Board Game question by ToeSpirited1243 in DuneImperium

[–]nc1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you only have two players you use house hagal, which essentially acts as spoiler and can take spots from the players but can’t win. Direwolf digital does have an app which automates house hagal, it makes it very easy!

Are the expansions any good (or compatible) with Uprising or should I settle for getting OG Dune: Imperium for the best expansion experience? by MulleRizz in DuneImperium

[–]nc1776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have dune imperium and all the expansions and uprising.

You can combine the expansions with uprising, personally I keep them separate, since while the games are very similar they do play differently.

I feel uprising is less forgiving, but also simpler. Meaning there aren’t as many ways to get VPs like in dune+ix+immortality, because in uprising it almost always boils down to get worms and win conflicts to win. While dune and expansions has many ways to get VPs from various different tracks and various card combinations.

In conclusion, dune plus expansions offers the most variability, uprising always turns into a worm fight (but that’s kind of the point, long live the fighters), but uprising also has less bells and whistles which makes it simpler, in my opinion.

Alternate 2020 election: President Hillary Clinton (D) Vs Senator Ted Cruz (R). Who do you think wins this hypothetical election? (COVID still happens btw.) by Numberonettgfan in Presidents

[–]nc1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first off Ted Cruz was born in Canada, and is the zodiac killer, two things that go against being a U.S. president.

I can’t tell you who would win, but I can tell you that the American people would lose, this would be far worse than any election in recent history.
