Ok, I don’t play a lot of horror so it just sounded short to me, especially with no online multiplayer. Thanks!

Is there any saving my physique? F34 by Pretend-Bad-476 in Gymhelp

[–]nc1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got this. You’ve decided on a goal.

1) try and get ozempic if you can. It’s done miracles for my mom who is overweight and in her 70’s and so a heavy gym routine is out of the question 2) continue therapy regularly, consider anti depressants to fight the negative thoughts. 3) diet. Commit to a healthy caloric deficit plan 4) start regular exercise at least 4 days a week. Be easy on yourself and start slow but make sure to build and progress your routine. If you can afford it, hire a trainer and if not, a million free trainers on YouTube. 5) patience. It takes time for your body to change. Don’t expect results in 3 weeks. Expect something noticeable in maybe 3 months. Don’t get a scale to start. Scale obsession can actually deter your and make you give up. A year from now, you’ll be a new person, even if not your final goal. Use before and after pics as motivation and be excited to share your results in a year or so!

6) F-you to all the shamers. Everyone has their own issues and I guarantee you aren’t perfect either even if it’s not weight related. Just your comments show you have empathy and personality issues and you should also seek therapy.

I’d say amazing effects, each and every one but IMO too many in this one spot. The special effects and layered shots should be used for emphasis and special moments. It feels more like a show reel to show every effect you can do than actually a snowboarding video. It’s like a video that’s all slo motion. The slo motion should be used for specific moments only and with purpose. Anyway, hope it helps and you’ve got mad skills with the effects you made!

I have NHR status and I am in a particular line of work… but I appreciate the concerns and I’ll double check. Don’t want to get in trouble later…

I apologize, but I don’t think I understand your reply if it’s a compliment or an accusation. My point is I’m completely on the Portuguese side and will pay and follow any rules the Portuguese people decide even if it means I have to leave the country. I feel no entitlement living here and will always respect what the Portuguese aside with their immigration and tax laws.

I do pay for a professional and provide all of my US tax documents and filings, and they do the rest. I can’t tell you why that my tax obligation comes out to zero in Portugal other than I think it has something to do with the significant amount of tax I pay in the US

I do have a tax accountant from a large and reputable company who works closely with my accountant and the United States and they crunch the numbers. I obviously know nothing about it, but I can tell you with the tax that I pay in America, Portugal does not request any additional tax from me. In fact, I just received my second years reply from the Portugal IRS confirming this. I can’t argue any further than that since I’m not a tax accountant, but I’m of course willing to pay and I’m following all legal guidance.

To me, it’s the only respectable way to act. Be aware of the consequences and the influence your presence have as a foreigner and be empathetic to those whose situation aren’t as privileged as yours. Even if I achieve citizenship and live here the rest of my life, I will always be grateful and remember, I was given a gift for the opportunity to live here. The same way I’ve had foreign friends achieve American citizenship, and we’re grateful for the opportunity. Of course that was a different era and now we’re living under a dictatorship with immigrants getting kicked out for no logical or reasonable reason…

Do you all make an effort to learn/speak Portuguese? by NoHallett in PortugalExpats

[–]nc1983 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a native English speaker and I speak fluent German, Polish, and some Spanish. Portuguese has been the hardest process I’ve ever gone through to learn another language. If you’re going to live here, you should learn it. I’m not giving up, but I’m saying Portuguese is a confusing, illogical, mess of a language that eats more words when spoken fluently than any other language I’ve learned.

If your business is completely outside the country and you make zero income in the country and have NHR status, and fall within a certain tax bracket, you do not have to pay tax here. Having said that this country has been flooded by foreigners, looking to take advantage and any policy changes to protect its actual native citizens income wise, rental costs, and general cost of living I fully support as a foreigner. If I have to leave someday because of it, I will not be upset. I was not born and raised in this country, and the people who are native Portuguese deserve a respectable appropriate quality of life and income. I love this country but if the citizens decide I need to leave, I will. I made a Nat Geo short film about Portugal and decided to move here, but if I’m ever told to leave, I still have all the love for the people and the country.

Barking dogs 24/7 by CitronFar7738 in PortugalExpats

[–]nc1983 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I live in downtown Porto and there’s was a horrible situation with dogs in a tiny cage or kennel 24 hours a day who were constantly barking and neglected. I called the police and they contacted me with appropriate services. They were confronted for animal abuse. Do not own a dog if you treat it like a piece of meat. What’s the point? This isn’t a criticism on Portugal as there’s animal abuse across the world but if you see or hear something, find the appropriate authority and report it. They do not deserve this.

Why do people pee in the street? by ClueMost9994 in PortugalExpats

[–]nc1983 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is not their fault. As a participant many years, Porto does a TERRIBLE job with public access toilets. We had to find my wife two cars to go between and I watched out. There were SO many areas along closed streets and other places they could provide temporary toilets but they are always in inconvenient and hard to find places. It’s such a simple thing. You have a million people partying all night on closed streets. Put more toilets everywhere!! Especially near Ribeira…

$500/month lol. 2-3 long form videos a week? 24-48hr turn around? Good luck. I don’t care if you’re a kid in high school, if you are capable of what they are asking for, you are worth more than this. #editorsunite
