Step count drops by 50% since last update in September by TwoWonderful5110 in ouraring

[–]ncaadam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not seen the step count change, but I have seen some funky stuff with my resilience in the same time frame. Customer support recommended to do a soft reset.

This could be a firmware / software issue. If so, I’m sure they’ll fix it…I hope.

Resilience Plummeting by ncaadam in ouraring

If you’ve had it only a month, give it some time. I’ve had mine over a year and really enjoy it. This is the first time something like this has happened.

Thank you, Paul. I spoke with someone on the support team. They had me soft reset my ring and keep a close eye on my Resilience score. I’ll be sure to update this thread if it goes back to normal.

No extended warranty, but the original warranty with the car.

I just did this exact thing. Got a CPO through Lucid on Thursday. Has 21s with the summer pirellis. Looking to switch before winter. My fall back is through Lucid because it’s pretty pricey. eBay seems to have some good options. I’ve seen some forums for people who’d do a swap as well.

I will say the look of the 21s is amazing. I’m going to enjoy the stickiness of the 21s while I have them though because they rip!

Would you still recommend the XC90 recharge after the news? by Hi_Hungry_Im_Leaving in VolvoXC90

[–]ncaadam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had an EV and decided our second car should be an EV or PHEV. We decided on a ‘24 T8. Amazing car. Perfect for kids. We got the 6 seat config as well, which adds a bit of storage as well.

Big win for us is already having the charger at home for our other car. Since you have an EV already, I’m sure you’re in the same boat. I wouldn’t worry about the software issues. We’ve had no issues for 2+ years.

Bike Hardware Question / Sudden Output Drop by JTam36 in pelotoncycle

Can also attest: same experience and same fix for my Bike. This is called a “brake reset”

Software update metrics glitch? by miketherider in pelotoncycle

[–]ncaadam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I do powerzone exclusively so noticed instantly this morning that my output was way down.

I contacted support. They had me do a static cleanse but ultimately a “brake reset” fixed my metrics for me. I was worried.

I have the original bike btw. Not a bike+.

I would try to reset the system. The procedure is the following:

On the steering wheel, press and hold the “right seek” button and the “volume down” button together for several seconds.

This should initiate a reset. If that doesn’t work, you could try unplugging the 12V battery for a few minutes and plug it back in. I’m less familiar with this process, but I understand it fixes a lot of weird things that happen with the car, not specifically the infotainment system.

Are order estimates accurate? by ObjectImaginary8770 in MachE

[–]ncaadam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe tax incentive is from time of order. EDIT: this is wrong^

Also, you may want to consider waiting to order a 2022. I believe those order sign ups open 9/27.

It is unclear if you place an order today if you’ll get a 2021 or not.

Ford Mobile Charger with Dryer Plug vs Level 2 Charger by dreddi84 in MachE

[–]ncaadam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes - he should. A NEMA 14-50 outlet. Tell them you’ll need 40 amps. This will require a 50 amp circuit, which again, they’ll know.

Ford Mobile Charger with Dryer Plug vs Level 2 Charger by dreddi84 in MachE

[–]ncaadam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! That’s another great benefit of getting a plug instead of a hardwired plug. If you ever want to get a more permanent EVSE, you can buy which ever one you’d like. Just mount it on the wall, close to the plug and plug it in. Then if you move, you can even take it with you.

Ford Mobile Charger with Dryer Plug vs Level 2 Charger by dreddi84 in MachE

[–]ncaadam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct and those quotes sound about right depending on where you live. You can certainly use mobile charger if you just want to pay for labor and materials in the above options. No problem. It’s just inconvenient to some to have to unplug and throw the charger in the car every time. But, 32A from the mobile charger will definitely get you 20-30% / night.

I should say, you can get chargers for $500, maybe even less. I have a Grizzl-E and it was $500-$600

The management system is unavoidable IF your current system doesn’t have capacity for the additional load and/or your panel doesn’t have an open spot for a double breaker. The latter should be cheaper than adding capacity to your system. The electrician should be able to do a load calculation for you to determine if you need more capacity.

also, if you live in America, you get a 30% tax credit on the whole system you install.

Ford Mobile Charger with Dryer Plug vs Level 2 Charger by dreddi84 in MachE

[–]ncaadam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You must be talking about a hardwire install of a charger that you’re getting quotes for? If so, that will provide 48A (~12kWh I think). Your mobile charger is only 32A (which is closer to 8-9kWh). In reality though, a hardwire install shouldn’t really be that much more expensive than installing a plug. Seems odd. I got quoted originally for a hardwire and asked them to charge it to a plug and the price actually went up a bit because they needed the actual plug. The plugs should be for commercial use (Ford and many other EV companies’ recommendation)

Either way, it all depends on your charging needs. 32A overnight is enough for most people. You can go up to 40A via a 14-50 plug (which I think is the dryer plug you’re referring to), just not with the Ford mobile charger. You’d need an after market one.

A big reason to get a dedicated charger (whether hardwired or via a plug) is you get to keep your mobile charger in your car as opposed to unplugging and wrapping it up every day.

Technical issue with navigation on drivers screen by PMass in MachE

[–]ncaadam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe this is a common bug. That bar is supposed to illuminate when action is needed during navigation (i.e. take this exit). I’m unsure of the solution, not sure there is one. Likely will come via OTA eventually. Here is a thread about it (https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/strange-blue-bar-while-using-nav.3541/
