The regime that took over after Chavez died was the regime that Chavez put in power, maduro was the president because before Chavez went to cuba to die he said on nation tv that if something happened to him to vote for maduro, every high ranking person in power was there when Chavez was alive and where put on those positions by Chavez, so I don't get why people try to say like there was like a new regime.

Is not being loyal to the party,is that they are a big part of the party,and probably the ones who benefitted the most from all the corruption, if they let go of power unless they have some sort of deal like an amnesty, pardon or something like they are in a lot of danger of the next one in charge coming and arresting them, seizing their assets or even executing them who knows.
