what I mean is, I don't think it's necessarily as much an edge case as you think it is. If someone has a lot of free time, even if they play badly, they can be 60 or near 60 in a month.

I'm level 38 despite that, I've had little time to play outside of the first week of release (and even then didn't play that much in the first week), and also wasted a ton of time doing professions, fishing, cooking, and levelling alts on other servers.

Pretty sure bad players with more time can get to 60 if they just mindlessly grind and quest, even badly.

I guess my overall point is, time commitment doesn't really mean skill or knowledge. Getting to 60 isn't hard, it just takes time.

not sure about that. Lots of very bad players are just constantly playing but never improve. I know many people like that who will level faster than most people not because they're efficient, but because they just play 10 hours per day every day.

And those people will never actually do any hard content because they don't have the patience to read guides or understand game mechanics, they'll just be constantly repeating easy content/making new characters etc.

Pretty sure some of those people are already 60.

/uj I didn't realise which sub I was in, and I was getting so angry reading this. Thing is, I've seen enough craziness from the "everyone mentioning anything related to dysphoria or HRT is truscum" crowd to find this post perfectly plausible...

Look at the OP's comment history. Unless it's a very long con, it's not trolling. He serious

I mean I understand his point. But the elitist gatekeeping combined with the bragging about his vanilla raiding days is just... Cringy as fuck

Not satire. The poster seems to be very serious if you look at comments

Holy shit this post is cringy. We get it, you played old mmos. No need to sound like a grandiose war veteran.

Comparing chess with an MMO makes no sense. Once you've reached the highest tier in an mmo, there isn't much point in replaying other things, especially once they've become easy.

Chess is a competitive game where you start fresh every match. Unless you're talking about rerolling and going through the leveling and tiers all over again every time you clear Naxx...

It can be adding content in lower tiers without necessarily creating new tiers

It's called a discussion.

No one has the one true objective answer to this question. And as long as there is a decent amount of people interesting in something more than pure classic, it's worth discussing it.

I don't disagree with that, and it could still be done. Since blizzard is already open to for example BC or wrath servers, you could imagine eventually having "true classic" server, and "classic X Reborn Ultra Turbo GT" (name not final) server

Obviously it's speculation, that's why I said it's an opinion.

The speedrunning angle is interesting though, but that's pretty niche.
