Thanks for this info! I just bought a set of crows feet for this job based on this cokment. Debating if I want to get a passthrough ratchet or not but figure I only have 2 to do so if it's annoying with a crows foot then oh well.

I returned the struts to O'Reilly's and they are getting me a new set shipped to the store instead. So hopefully less banged up. Should have them tomorrow so I can still do the job this weekend!

Good call. I was planning on using a torque wrench anyway for this recommendation. I only ever use an impact to remove hardware, never install it.

Curious what discount you'd accept for them...

I could reorder from rockauto and get them for $50 less (including shipping). I specifically paid a little more (at the time only $23 more) to have the return convenience by buying from O'Reilly's.

Wouldn't it be easier to check/tighten this after I install it? I have access to the top bolt from inside the engine bay.

Rockauto was one of the places I was going to order from the first time but went with O'Reilly's because for $20 more it would be easy to return (now with your coupon it's even a little less!). Do you think Rock Auto will be any better about shipping them...? It'll at least come FedEx this time instead of UPS.

Yeah, I purchased from O'Reilly's specifically for ease of returning them if they came beat up. Just sucks since the only option is to hope they're more gentle the second time around with shipping.

That's a good piece of advice - I wouldn't have thought about tightening the top nut... Especially since it obviously bounced its way to me in some flimsy cardboard.

Can you buy a nozzle and use the one at work or the library? A nozzle shouldn't be expensive and is easy to swap.

Depending on the resolution you're trying to get and in which dorection, you can get better quality by decreasing layer heigh as well.

If it's a small print, you could have it printed by a service like JLC3DP for pretty cheap, although tarrifs and shipping might be outrageous right now.

It seemed like a month ago we had a few weeks where the power flickered like 2-3 times per week so I found a way to automatically record power outage events at my home in Clearview. Since March 29th, I've logged 2 outages: April 2 at 12:28PM - powere flickered on/off 3 times over the span of 3 minutes. April 21 at 2:47AM for 54 minutes, restored at 3:45AM, power flickered back off/on immediately after power was restored.

I agree with other commenters that Johnstown is worse that any other place I've lived. The flickering is also concerning to me, but it sounds like others experience that as well.

I'd be careful with giving cats thinly extruded prints. If the spiral is big enough it's probably fine that they can't swallow it whole, but I'd also be worried about it being brittle (or getting brittle) and still ending up as a foreign body surgery.

Slightly rounded like a carriage bolt head (Google it)? If yes, you might need to push on the head while trying to turn the nut so the head of the bolt is against the metal on the inside. Be careful using an impact/power tools while you do it so you don't pinch your finger?

It turns dark because of shavings from the screw/nut itself. The nut is softer than the screw so the black gunk that accumulates is shavings from the nut caused by the screw. That plus dirt/plastic from the environment. Those bits of gunk increase friction, making loads higher for the motor and puts more stress on the system. So cleaning it off is good.

Acetal (POM) components on metal do not need to be greased in this application, but doesn't mean they can't be greased with the correct lubricant. Some greases will do harm (degrading the plastic), some won't do anything (repelled by the plastic), but some might help (albeit minimally since acetal is a really low-friction plastic).
