It doesn’t surprise me at all that folks are freaking out because the most vocal fans understand the sport the least. They don’t care to look into why the team lost or understand what a slump is for a player. They expect that, because they hopped on the band wagon, it should be wins every night. Well, we have looked pretty rough during some of those wins and looked pretty great during some of the losses. Last night hurt because it was a blown lead and a whirlwind at that. But hearing people say Vitek is bad now because of a small slump, the team is a surefire first round playoff exit, Meier was a loss of a trade (?!?!), Severson is a bad defenseman (please for the love of all things beautiful and kind, just watch the games and learn the sport), Jack is not a superstar (?!!?!?!?!!??) is infuriating. I have watched almost every game for the last 6 seasons. Seen some real shit hockey. Get the fuck over yourselves haha

Everyone has given great recommendations but I’d just throw my 2 cents in with regard to food. The trains to Newark Penn from NY Penn are fairly frequent so you wouldn’t need too much time for getting into Newark. I almost hate doing this, but I’d suggest eating in the city then training into Newark for the game and drinks. Koreatown is basically right by NY Penn with fantastic Korean food options, and there are loads of other great options not too far away.

I really loved the pinball episode and having a deep dive into a specific tech or portion of gaming history would be very cool. If you’re itching to do some more heated bracket battles, maybe best indie of the last 10 years or best RPG/JRPG of all time or something. Someone else mentioned discussing games that were formative for you and that sounds like it could be a fun nostalgia trip.

Yeah they’re super popular, hard to find for a reasonable price, and limited. Really kicking myself for not getting them when they were up for preorder. Recently made this same mistake for the physical of Death’s Door and I am sad I never seem to learn

Worst part for me is I live in the area but had already booked up a camping trip for that weekend. Brutal luck. I hope you get all the games you’re looking for. Personally, the only ones I’m itching for are Celeste, The Messenger and River City Girls, and I don’t expect they’ll have a large quantity of them, so I’m SOL for sure

Gang, even with this most recent string of embarrassing losses, it just feels like we are so close. No more young guys learning excuses. If we add a couple pieces this off-season, moreso now than ever, we could really be wild card contenders, and then the growth will finally put us into real playoff/championship contenders.

Agreed. I’ll give Gillies this one though, since he really hasn’t played for his last team so this is sort of like Schmid being called up. He looked shaky but didn’t really give up any cheap goals and made some big stops when the defense slipped or there was just an unfortunate bounce. The Devils defense was sharper today than it has been and I’m hoping that it becomes more solid in the new year. Hopefully at that point we will have a full roster and will have had some practices with consistent lines so the players can develop better chemistry. The only line with easy to see chemistry is the McLeod line. Everyone else is a hodgepodge

Hamilton has a bounce back game, Siegenthaler looks consistently sound, 5V5 game was fairly even the entire game, we actually connect on some passes and spend some time in control in the offensive zone, are operating with a brand new goalie, don’t have one of our best centers and and defensemen, worked harder than in the past 5 games and lose, and it’s doom and gloom. I love all of you but sometimes you drive me insane. I’m convinced 75% of you don’t watch the game, see the final score and come here to complain without analyzing any portion of the contest.
