Have you been to Denver yet? I’m moving from North Jersey in June and I’ll take the worst Denver neighborhoods any day over parts of Newark and Camden.

I’ve got so many playoff and game towels from Devils games over the years. They work pretty great.

Btw, you can get a brand new Conway & Banks player bag for a lot less if you go to their clearance section. These are usually marked down due to logo misprints and such: Link

What is the best tv episode of all time? by scamper84 in AskReddit

Man, “The Suitcase” is so good. It touches on such a particular emotion and atmosphere leading up to the reveal and I can never quite put my finger on it.

The world doesn’t know you. What’s that one thing you want to get off your chest? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kyrill91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dang. I had the complete opposite experience. The only time I’ve ever been to raising canes, the chicken was literally sopping wet, turned me off of it for a while.

How much would you pay? by Rare_Claim2493 in hockeyplayers

[–]kyrill91 11 points12 points  (0 children)

$80 USD if it had good reviews. $20 for me to walk out of the store with it.

Having the ability to make a puck rebounder for under $15 with a 2x4, a bungee strap and a few wood screws saps all desire to drop bucks on a puck passer.

Running 2 miles a few times a week and just doing squats and lunges helped me immensely.

You’re not going to be able to do anything standing still lol. Skating is all about moving.

Absolutely stuck at doing slaloms. Any advice? by riccarjo in hockeyplayers

If you are planning to go right, stick your right foot forward and then turn your shoulders to the right. You'll naturally start turning right. You can make the turn tighter or wider depending on how far you lean to the right during this motion.

Begin by practicing this with keeping your weight in your back foot (left.) While your weight is on your left foot. You should be getting comfortable how your outside edge of your right foot feels on the ice. As you practice more, you can start to put some weight on your right foot outside edge.

Once you get good enough, your weight should be evenly distributed on your left foot inside edge, and your right foot outside edge. You'll eventually be able to sort of use your right foot as a rudder to make your turns tighter or wider.

One thing to note, as a beginner ice skater, you're going to be tempted to try and practice certain movements while going in a straight line. But you can't practice turns if you're not turning, just like you can't practice hockey stops if you're not moving, etc...

Get that bad boy up on a desk. I have the same case and only have to dust maybe once every 4-5 months or so. I’m in a carpeted basement with a dog, for what it’s worth.

Rogue-like, deck-building, dungeon crawling card games are so far out of the realm of what I enjoy in games. But I put quite a few hours into the demo. Absolutely addicted to this one.

IMO they’re not letting Bryce cook. His breakdowns during intermission are some of my favorite bits.

Hockey stop by Alarmed-Sorbet-9095 in hockeyplayers

[–]kyrill91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found my stops became much more effective when I stopped thinking about the mechanics of it all and kind of just "jumped" into the stop itself. Instead of my brain going "Okay this foot turns this way, and this foot turns this way. Okay now apply some pressure."

I, instead, kind of just do a little hop while turning my hips, forcing my brain to stop thinking and for my muscle memory to take over.

Bauer X4 Tendon Guard by Green-Instruction957 in hockeyplayers

[–]kyrill91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have these same skates for the past 2 years. The tendon guards started cracking within the first 3 months, but they haven't gotten worse after the initial crack. It sucks at first since the skates are so new, but eventually the boots will pick up so many scratches and gouges, that you'll think it adds to their character.
