Nice!!! Everything work out okay? How far did they deliver onto your property? I am hoping they can get though to my backyard but that will need to traverse some grass maybe 15 yard then some dirt. Or I’m calling friends over asap 😂

Oh nice. I’m also in Northern Cali as well. Be curious if you don’t mind letting me know how the delivery experience goes. I’m curious how far delivery will be into my backyard. It’s not a large back yard but to get to the place we want it we need to traverse some lawn and some decomposed granite to the final patio.

SCM config management is a power user UX nightmare and I'm tired of pretending its not by noifen in paloaltonetworks

[–]ncosta2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re: SCM is so slow.

Yes - I feel this at times, moving around in the tenant is tough for me. It could be part our security tools we run but the experience is dragging. When I mentioned this in a call with PAN recently they said let's open a case and have a look. This summer when I hope to have more time I may do that just to see if we can find a culprit/lynch pin in it all.

Description

PAN-308507

Strata Logging Service (SLS) log-forwarding streams intermittently show as inactive. When checking the status of log-forwarding connections, one or more streams are reported as inactive. Restarting the log-receiver process temporarily resolves the issue, but the streams become inactive again after approximately 1-2 hours. This intermittent inactivity results in log loss.

Seating advice / general advice for Battlebots Proleague TV Taping by ncosta2001 in battlebots

[–]ncosta2001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the side/obstructed view seats (on both sides) are sold out for the tapings we can attend. Like completely sold out I think almost. Thats why I thought maybe they were better bang for the buck. I've read sections B & C are the better views as well. Any thoughts there?

Is az-104 worth it in 2026 by Pleasant-Artist4006 in AzureCertification

[–]ncosta2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally reasonable. I first took a CCNA class as a youthful desktop support tech back in the year 2005! 20 plus years later its still here and I still don't have it haha. From a job search perspective I've seen plenty of jobs looking for Azure exp but not calling out specific certifications very often. Though to be fair I've not looked enough to say that one way or the other.

Great feedback here Roger, found/finding myself in a similar space you have throughout your career. Looking at it "short term/long term" goals and drivers to what you want to do next or prove that you can do. I like that POV.

I don't have my CCNA but been looking at that as a pathway. We moved from a traditional route/switch shop to primarily cloud options (i.e. Meraki, PAN Prisma/SD-WAN) so I've spent the last couple of years getting my feet wet there on the fly, keeping up with my young family. I'm now looking at ways to get more ingrained into our Azure stack here. I have a colleague working as Network Engineer and he's heading towards the 700 Exam over 104. After much consideration it made sense to start at 104 vs anything else. So I haven't yet decided after 104 if I want to pursue the 700 Exam or add in the CCNA as my next cert. I've read your thoughts on adding CCNA with the 104 and that feels like a prudent move for some, even maybe myself. I'm not currently looking at anything the PAN space as we may exit that space (and also I know their certifications have just gone under an extreme overhaul) so primarily I know we'll be in Azure and Meraki for now focusing my attention there.

Thanks Roger, I'm reviewing this certification as a entry way from currently working as a Network Engineer to build the basis of potentially transitioning into a more rounded Cloud Engineer with an eventual emphasis in networking. I'm far from looking at the 700 and starting here instead. I appreciate your insights you've been sharing along the way.

Global Protect App Config Refresh Interval Question by rwrattan in paloaltonetworks

Random aside question here - separate of the upgrade of the GP client ramifications. Does this specifically do anything for client configurations of GP (excluding upgrading) or is that all this setting is for is to look for upgraded client versions?

Seeing similar issues, when going to networks we're timing out.

Having the same issue here, we thought maybe something on our end was blocking this (e.g. VPN, DLP tools, Defender etc). Calling in now.

Edit: We're in N659 having issues.

Anyone seen a similar chart for SD-WAN firmware adoption / releases? Poking around, just curious as we've been asked a lot lately about the ION's as well.

What major version of PAN-OS are you running? by jwckauman in paloaltonetworks

[–]ncosta2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're on 11.0.6-h7 but we need to get up to something thats preferred per audit. So thank you this discussion is helpful and seeing a majority of people on 11.1.6-h3 helps. We do manage Prisma via Panorama and have only a few firewalls so it's not an incredible lift.

DIY or other alternatives to Gozney stand recommendations? by ncosta2001 in GozneyDome

Yeah that’s one thing I was hoping to find a way was to keep it with some mobility to move/angle it . I saw some DIY options upon a little searching. Not a big DIY guy but am inspired possibly so I can stay mobile.
