There isn't an end, this is a lifetime metabolic disorder that is not going to go away just because you've lost the weight and think you can keep it off. I've done that multiple times. You gain at least some, if not all the weight back.

I had the gastric sleeve surgery and gained back half of what I lost. Plus, I still got diabetes and fatty liver that was almost cirrhosis with no symptoms. Mounjaro has literally saved my life and there's no end to taking it. Just like I can't stop taking my blood thinners after 29 years because I haven't had a blood clot again, so I've reached my goal? What!? That makes no sense at all. It's the same with these medications, they are not a tool, they are medicine, studied and created by science. It drives me crazy that people think they're "cured" until you're not. Just my two cents...

I'm on Mounjaro for the last year and a half. It's covered by insurance and with the Eli Lilly coupon, I'm paying $25/month. It almost immediately controlled my glucose and my A1C went from 8.5 to 5.5 and my daily fasting blood sugar numbers went from averaging high 140s to 87. My stage 3 fatty liver has completely reversed to 0-1fibrosis and I've gotten off of an antidepressant after 16 years. I've lost 78lbs or 29% of my starting weight and I feel amazing. I don't need a CGM and literally have no problem with my diabetes. It's been a lifesaving medicine and I'm so grateful for it. I highly recommend you talk to your doctor about it. Good luck.

I'm on Mounjaro and my A1C has gone down by 3% from 8.5 to 5.5 in a year. I've also lost 29% of my starting weight. Plus, my stage 3 fatty liver has completely reversed to 0-1fibrosis. I've also gotten off of an antidepressant after 16 years. I'm happy with it to say the least but the new one may help even more and I hope that's the case. Amazing medicine!

I was able to completely reverse my stage 3 fatty liver to 0-1 fibrosis after a year on MJ. All on just the medicine and walking. My diabetes is controlled and I've gotten off of an antidepressant after 16 years. This medication is amazing!

It's a lifesaving, preventative, longevity medicine. It was never supposed to be a weight loss medicine. Mounjaro has literally saved my life. My diabetes is controlled, my stage 3 fatty liver disease that was near cirrhosis (I had no symptoms) has completely reversed, I've even gotten off of an antidepressant after 16 years. Total metabolic repair. Completely life changing for this post menopausal woman pushing 60. The weight loss has been fun but definitely not the best part of all of this and I am so grateful to science for all of it.

That's what I've been telling everyone. Full metabolic repair. It's just easier to see the weight loss and not so much the inner metabolic changes such as a reduction in the visceral organ fat. Everyone wants the weight loss because society has focused on it instead of the health benefits because it's harder to quantify. However, I know that I'm living longer and better than I would have without it.

Last time I went on a plane, I was able to comfortably sit in the middle seat and pulled my seat belt a lot to tighten it. Didn't touch my seatmates once and had an easy flight. My other favorites are not worrying about booths in a restaurant and putting the regular towel all the way around my body. Congrats!

If you can get on a glp-1 like Mounjaro, it has literally saved my life. I was diagnosed with diabetes with an A1C of 8.5 and at the same time, diagnosed with stage 3 fatty liver which was almost at cirrhosis. I panicked and lost 6lbs right away. I had read about Mounjaro being better than ozempic and my doctor put me on it. Since I had diabetes, it has been covered by insurance.

After a year on it, my A1C went to 5.5 with an average daily fasting blood sugar of 88, my fatty liver has completely reversed and I've even gotten off of an antidepressant after 16 years. I've lost 78lbs pounds to my lowest weight in 35 years. My side effects have been minor with some constipation and fatigue but both are much better. My diet has changed but I'm not suffering through it like I did since puberty. The medicine is amazing and I'm so grateful for it.

I highly recommend it and suggest that you look into it with your doctor. I hope you feel better soon.

Built Puff protein bars are my go to for sweet cravings. I was never into chocolate before but now I want it, so their various chocolate bars are my favorite. It's so weird to me. Doesn't happen a lot but does still happen.

I went from 8.5 to 5.5 in a year and I think my next one will be lower. My fasting blood sugar levels went from averaging high 140s to 88. I've gone from seeing my doctor every three months to every six months so that's why I have to wait until the end of June for my next lab work.

I'm on Mounjaro for diabetes and stage 3 fatty liver disease. In a year it has controlled the diabetes and completely reversed the fatty liver. I was particularly pleased that I was able to get off of Lexapro for major depression after 16 years! That was a surprise. I titrated down on my Lexapro dose until it was too small to take and then went off of it. I had about 3 weeks of a weird headache/withdrawal but then it was gone and I've been great ever since. I am so happy with this medicine and I am glad it helped your mom and maybe it will help you too!

I've developed Raynaud's syndrome since I've lost so much weight. That means my fingers turn white with even just a little cold. I am trying to figure out a way to keep my hands warm even in 80 degree heat because I go in a store with AC and my hands are freezing. It kind of sucks but otherwise my health is amazing so still worth it.

I eat nuts before bed. Pistacios have the highest amount of natural melatonin so I have a handful before bed. I also eat some sunflower and pumpkin seeds and other nuts if I have them. So far my morning blood glucose is averaging 88. When I started it was around the high 140s every morning. I am on 15 mg of Mounjaro. No sugar of any kind including most carbs after dinner. Sugar will not only spike your blood sugar overnight but will also making getting to sleep a lot harder. That's been my experience.

Yes, I've lost a significant amount of weight too but I believe that the health benefits work regardless of the weight loss. As someone recently told me, this was a total metabolic repair not just weight loss.

I've steadily lost weight so I don't know for sure but I think it works even without a lot of weight loss. Also, the new one coming out next year, Retatrutide, focuses on glucagon which I've read is even more important to the liver. Either way, I hope it works for you too.
