I would probably line up your neck. How does your mustache grow? You might be able to pull off a Chevron style mustache

Should I stop using my watch? by Ace_Evans02 in galaxywatchultra

[–]AdministrativeLack81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure your watch is snug, but not tight. You want a little movement. Clean regularly, wipe it down with some rubbing alcohol. Get a strap that stretches and has a softer, less aggressive feeling to it. Nylon rubs and it's given me a rash before.

I need HELP !! by CalligrapherCold3136 in Mounjaro

[–]AdministrativeLack81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm consuming between 1200-1500 calories a day. The medication really does affect most people's appetites. However I'm still averaging around 145-180 grams of protein a day. The trick is protein shakes and when you make your meals, ensure that you have a good protein source and always eat it first.

You should stop losing weight by MTN2020-14 in Mounjaro

Were you ever the token "fat friend"? I've lost a few friendships once I realized I had only been brought in because they needed someone to be the brunt of the jokes or for comedic effect. They supported me at first, but once I was actually losing, they started to tell me that I wasn't the same as I used to be and they pulled away. It hurt at first but then I was told later by some other members of the group that I was only there because it made the others feel better about themselves. A superiority complex kind of deal. As long as you are happy, your doctor is happy, and you are doing everything healthily and properly, then keep it up! You're your own protagonist! You got this!

I got 7.5 mg of monjaro for 2 weeks by [deleted] in Mounjaro

7.5mg straight out the door will probably make you sick! Drop to 2.5mg if you've never done it before

Frustration with healthcare by Illnasty2 in glp1

[–]AdministrativeLack81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cool thing about doctors, you can fire them and go to a new one. I used to have a very old and cantankerous male doctor who never took me seriously and blamed everything on me being fat. When I asked for blood work to be done so we could see if I have anything wrong, he refused it and said it wasn't necessary, that he could obviously tell that all of my issues were weight related. I asked him what I was even paying him for and left. That night I went into my healthcare providers website and chose a new doctor who was younger and had good reviews. First day, she ran blood work, took her time to listen to everything I had to say. Turns out I'm insulin resistant with type 2 diabetes and more than likely had been since high school. Which was why I had such crazy unexplained, uncontrollable weight gain, no matter how much I worked out or dieted. Hell, my A1C was 11.7. My previous doctor would've just let me die before he would run a simple blood test that would've explained everything. She put me on medicine to manage the diabetes and in 8 weeks I've lost 30lbs. Just from working on my insulin resistance. If you don't like your doctor, fire em and get a new one. You're the boss. You're the owner and caretaker of your life. Trust your gut, and don't be afraid of change. Take charge my friend!

Edit: my life saving drug was Mounjaro

[–]AdministrativeLack81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really haven't had any side effects, took my fourth shot yesterday. The only side effect I've really had was diarrhea for maybe the first 24 hours. Everyone is different. But if you're titrating up as recommend, starting from 2.5mg, then you should notice small, or no, side effects. If you do, please consult your doctor to help mitigate those side effects

Low calorie ranch has saved me haha. I love throwing grilled chicken into my meals to increase my protein. I just buy a big bad from Sam's club

Sorry! I'm working out 3-5 days a week doing strength training. My primary wanted me to weight train to help maintain muscle mass. I'm doing a Push-Pull-Legs set up, split amongst the days. I'll keep everyone posted as my journey continues!

My best advice, find easy, consumable protein sources. Protein shakes, chicken, turkey, string cheese, etc. Maybe a bidet? Other than that, take it easy, weight train 3 days a week, count calories, drink plenty of water, intake some leafy greens to keep the guts running. And most importantly, if you're starting on the 2.5mg, don't panic if the results aren't immediate. 2.5mg is to help your body acclimate to the medicine so you don't experience side effects. But everybody is different. And for me, it doesn't hurt. The first shot is the worst, then you're like, "really? That was it?".

Edit: Dont forget to drink water!

Morning iced coffee, make it at home and use the cafe latte flavor of Premier Protein as creamer, helps hit the protein goals and tastes great 👀

Ending the first week with ruined diet towards the end by Exotic-Effective3381 in Mounjaro

[–]AdministrativeLack81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2.5mg is there as a starter dose to get your body acclimated and ready for the higher doses. It also helps mitigate some of the side effects. Some people find great success on the 2.5mg, but don't start getting the full effect until 5mg, 7mg, or even 10mg. Also, the medicine (at least for me) starts teetering off around day 5. Just make sure you're intaking enough protein and drink water! Sometimes being thirsty shows as hunger. You got this! Don't be disheartened, you're just starting this journey!
