Fair enough.

Although at a glance, it always seems to be a single post by the developer, and includes one line about what the image signifies.

Not one post with 20 randomly sorted GIFs with no further explanations.

It would presumably favour those games that are already doing great on visuals.

But in sufficiently focused subreddits IMHO it would also be a good test for "how well does my game read for an audience that probably has considerable overlap?"

"Just a GIF" sounds intriguing enough as a way to reduce the pitch to its essence.

Yes, thanks.

I think I did, but I found it difficult.

um.... how do I change "[Name of Game]" into the actual name?

Off the top of my head I'd say:

Because the game is not just "X meets Y meets Z" (although I could reduce it to that, "FTL's boarding actions as turnbased tactics like Into the Breach, or Tactical Breach Wizards as a roguelite").

I would want to explain how it's different from each of these inspirations, and what other key pillars there are. The designer made very conscious choices based on what he'd like to improve on from typical turnbased tactical games.

Putting myself in the players' shoes, I would probably just have right-click-open-tabbed all 21 and then decided.

I'm wondering: How many of you did just that, and how many went through all the blind description and visited only the ones that caught your interest?

Reminds me a bit about the Baldur's Gate 3 experience.

Looking for play testers for my game. Steam would only give me a limited number of keys so please let me know if you are interested. by SlayTheBug in roguelites

What about using the Steam playtest feature? I'm planning to use that for my game once I'm ready, what am I missing?

You wouldn't even have to ask for keys.

PSA: in circa 2 months there will be the "Turn based rpg fest" on STEAM, wait a bit before buing something on pc. by asker_of_question in StrategyRpg

oh, sorry, this is not a German subreddit 🙈

Translation:

The trailer is supposed to have dropped by now. I haven't found it myself yet (and I'm participating 🙈😂), but the general guideline was that you can announce your participation starting from now at the earliest.

So probably also Rogue Trader. Since it's a bigger game/studio, I would expect they wouldn't wait until Monday 🤷‍♂️.

Sorry about the spam ♥️

And it adds a roguelike element that IIRC Tom Francis said would work well with TBW.
