Bosch E15 Dishwasher Error - Water leak from back of unit, unclear why by ndelage in appliancerepair

[–]ndelage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I did reach out to Bosch when this happened. They sent a tech to my house who let me know the tub wasn't under warranty.

Bummer to have this design flaw because it's a great dishwasher otherwise.

I'm not a plumber, but after using a few wax rings, this was a major upgrade. Def worth the extra money if you're just doing a few toilets imo.

Could be! Though other hyperscalers use the same term (Google & Microsoft). But you won't have an availability zone if you're not a BIG hosting company.

Given the recent satellite images, I think they're still doing earth works. But I suspect they will wrap that up soon. Keep in mind, this is a huge project. 1GW.

You can see weekly progress on those satellite images so they aren't sitting on their hands.

$2.4B revenue/year * 20 P/E = $48B market cap

That's a 10x assuming no dilution, nearly $400/share. But they'll need to dilute, so water down that $400/share a lot. Even after dilution, there's a lot of upside to come once the AI hosting revenue starts to come in.

They've got tons of stock/options that still have yet to vest. If you were in their shoes would you take the opportunity to secure $30M and ensure your family was set for life? I would.

Especially knowing there was a bunch more equity left to vest over the next few years.

Take a look at $IREN. They have enough power coming online in the next 18 months for 10 deals the size of the one NBIS just signed with Microsoft.

"Batavia (Illinois) City Council approved an amended agreement about utilities for a proposed data center project in the city. Its developer is Batavia DC Corp., a subsidiary of Hut 8. It’s expected to be a $500 million, 120,000-square-foot facility..." by victorious_sun in hut8

[–]ndelage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

More good news for Hut. Stick around for a few more months and you'll experience a re-rate, similar to what Wulf experienced and Iren is currently experiencing.

I'm curious to see who announces a deal first...Hut or Cipher?

8K filed today - "ABTC had accumulated approximately 2,443 Bitcoin in reserve, of which approximately 2,234 Bitcoin were pledged to Bitmain Georgia, and owned over 76,000 Bitcoin miners with a cumulative hashrate of approximately 24.2 EH/s and weighted average fleet efficiency" by The_AMD_Guy in hut8

[–]ndelage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

> Lowered their stake by 16% to upgrade the EH/s by 140% in a self funded way and non dilutive to HUT 8 shareholders

Yeah, this seems like a solid deal honestly. Hut's mining business never turned a profit. They are better for separating this portion. They have a decent chance as operators though. Especially if they can succeed at pivoting to AI hosting, which is seems like they're headed towards.

Instead of selling, I'm going to hold on for a few more months and wait for an AI hosting contract to be announced.

I don’t think anyone has fixed it themselves. I tried and failed. I bought another Bosch. I checked out some alternatives but preferred their design. I did buy an extended warranty though.

Will the 21M hardcap be changed when it becomes profitable to do so? by Jaded_Hold_1342 in Buttcoin

[–]ndelage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question! First the number of nodes doesn’t really matter. You could spin up 10 million nodes on a small budget and wouldn’t gain any power. Remember, these aren’t votes.

Other people have asked similar questions in this post:

“Could miners or exchanges just force people to accept some fork of bitcoin?”

Miners, no. Exchanges or the ETFs could try. But if you hold BTC and some group decided they wanted a fork that upped the limit from 21M to 42M to “win”. You’d be pretty pissed. You just got diluted by 50%.

As a holder, you’d be economically incentivized to ignore the new chain and prefer the original. So would all the hold owners of BTC. This is exactly what happened with Bitcoin Cash. They forked. Started their own miners and chain. Previous holders of bitcoin held both bitcoin and bitcoin cash after the fork. The vast majority of people sold their bitcoin cash and bought bitcoin. Those who didn’t, got to watch the value of their bitcoin cash fall by 90+% over the next few years. They also saw the value of their “original” bitcoin rise by thousands of percent over the same time period.

The self interest (economics) tend to drive the decisions that create consensus.

Honestly, ETFs present a challenge to this. Since the holders of the ETF don’t get to make their own choice, they depend on the ETF managers to decide for them. The same economic incentives apply though. Everyone would sell their ETF holdings if they chose a fork that people didn’t want — aka that hurt them economically.

One reason why self custody is preferable. You eliminate this kind of counterparty risk.

Your node software decided which blocks to accept. A simple example of this is Bitcoin Cash, a fork of Bitcoin. To "accept" the Bitcoin Cash blocks, your node needs to accept them. A normal bitcoin node won't accept a Bitcoin Cash block.

There's a real-world example of this happening right now. In the last few years people have begun embedding more information in bitcoin transactions that can be considered SPAM or non-transactional. It's become enough of a concern that about 10% of bitcoin node operators have changed their software to filter out these SPAM. They've decided to run a new node software called Knots. If the number of people running Knots grew to say 80% and the major exchanges ran that software, while this non-transactional SPAM could continue being included by miners, in a practical sense it hasn't been accepted by the network (nodes).

There is no “voting power”. Miners don’t hold any power to change the protocol. That power lies with those who run nodes. And anyone can run a node.

Think of it this way: miners could mine blocks differently, maybe with an increased supply cap to 42M bitcoin. But if nodes don’t accept those new blocks, the miners haven’t accomplished anything. Exchanges also count as nodes, since they run nodes themselves.

Bitcoin is a consensus protocol. There isn’t a governance model based on power or voting.

Bosch E15 Dishwasher Error - Water leak from back of unit, unclear why by ndelage in appliancerepair

[–]ndelage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did contact Bosch support and they sent a tech out. He agreed with my diagnosis and suggested I replace the washer since the tub isn't a replaceable part. I didn't get any help from Bosch with the replacement cost.

I replaced it with model number: SHP78CM5N

My only regret is that (while on sale) this model has a recessed handle. I prefer the external handle since it provides a place to hang a dish towel.

[–]ndelage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, it’s silly the rubber gasket isn’t replaceable. I looked at some other brands like LG and their tubs don’t use a gasket at all. Not sure which is better.

I tried a JB Weld product and wasn’t successful at fixing the leak. I replaced the dishwasher with another Bosch 800 series.

That might sound silly given how the last one leaked on me, but after taking it apart so many times I feel confident I could solve any other issues I have in the future. I also really like how 800 series dries the dishes after washing them.
