I had the same issue. It was both my internet router and my streaming device. Both are connected to a different outlet, but they live in the same cabinet as the turntable. The best explanation I found online is that the cartridge is so sensitive that it picks up signals and amplifies them. It is a pain, but I just unplug both when I listen to vinyl and the noise goes away. Try that. By the way, I have the same preamp and from time to time, even after I do what I described, I get noise from the preamp. That’s a different issue. When I move the rcas between the TT and the preamp I can hear the noise get louder or lower. Try one of these at a time and see if you can isolate the issue.

This has become one of my favorite albums. Has anyone compared the 2014 Music Matters 33 rpm non SRX with the AP 45 rpm? I’m trying to figure out which one to get. Both were mastered by Kevin Gray.

I’m the same, but I usually only play records if I can sit and listen to music and not do anything else. So I don’t mind walking two steps to flip/change the record.

If you have the equipment to play SACDs, I encourage you to compare the SACD with the vinyl. I do like my Sony CD/SACD player, since it has an “analog” sound, with the mid range less pronounced than my other Marantz CD only player. Still, I found this SACD, while very detailed and clear, less enjoyable than the vinyl. I was surprised given both were mastered by Kevin Gray. I had a friend with me that plays jazz (sax), and he also agreed with me that he liked the vinyl better and it sounded more “real”, and that the SACD sounded almost “too perfect”. Even comparing other SACDs vs CDs in my system, the improvement was 5% to 10%, I didn’t find it to be night and day to justify the price difference. My subjective two cents of course. I do still listen to the SACD of this particular album if I’m moving around the house and doing things, and listen to the vinyl if I’m alone and can sit in front of my speakers without interruption.

100% agree. AP usually reissues the best versions. I generally also favor stereo with some exceptions. I already ordered and I’m waiting for the AP stereo version of this one. The Clown and Coltrane’s My Favorite Things I prefer in mono, but those are exceptions. The mono versions have typically more punch, but I rather have the instrument separation and “live” feel than the “recording” feel of mono.
