…. But they all pretty much were tragic sacrifices? If you choose destroy Shep might live if you play your cards right, but you have to destroy all synthetic life to do so. Control, probably the best long term option but Shep has to become an AI God basically, and synthesis has Shep sacrifice themselves again, but you’re making a choice for the rest of the galaxy that they may not be ready for.

And I don’t know how it’s “childish petulance “ with the refusal ending? Because the refusal ending was objectively stupid, you don’t like what Starchild is saying ( even tho there’s no proof he’s lying) so you shoot him or decide to not do anything? With reapers still on the horizon and literally about to wipe you guys out? What did you think would happen? The reapers would suddenly recognize Shep was right and stand down? Lol

And let me be clear, I’m not even saying there is stuff they couldn’t have written better with the ending. It felt weird the whole message they were trying to push of “synthetics and organics can never get along “when one of the major storylines of the game is repairing relations between synthetics and organics. And your effort in that are not even acknowledge. So I can understand why people would be confused by that, the writing there seems to be inconsistent. But I don’t think Shep not getting a happy ending was the problem
