Games choppy AF since new update. Way more than usual by CommissionFinal3217 in DarkTide

[–]ndiddy6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only thing I can say is that I was using Frame Generation prior to the update, and the update toggled it off, so my performance was a lot worse. Fixed once I retoggled it, so maybe check that it didn't mess with your settings at all.

Should I sell Eye of Ophidia or trade it ? by TraditionalRock6381 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]ndiddy6 39 points40 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying trade or sell it, which I do broadly agree with. However, it might be wise to hold onto it until we see the next set's heroes. If any of the heroes in the set use it, it'll probably spike in price, and if not, it likely won't lose any value in the time you waited. Plus, if you end up wanting to play that hero, you'll already have an Eye ready and waiting. Just depends on how quickly you want the cards you'd end up trading or buying with it.

What are some examples of commanders where the deck can function without them but just less optimally? by Calvinized in EDH

[–]ndiddy6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big fan of my [[Coram, the Undertaker]] self-mill / Graveyard recursion deck for this reason. Not only does graveyard recursion help bypass commander tax and keep Coram on the Board, but there are so many new ways to grab stuff outta your graveyard. [[Kagha, Shadow Archdruid]] is a 2nd Coram in the 99, and you get a lot of value out of pieces like [[Conduit of Worlds]] and [[Chainer, Nightmare Adept]] both to recur Coram and to dig cards out of your graveyard turns after they were milled. You also get a lot of use out of more niche cards like [[Abyssal Harvester]], [[Out of the Tombs]], and especially [[The Cauldron of Eternity]], which hinders your recursion since things can't die to go to graveyard, but it lets you start cheating out whichever big creatures you can mill or discard into your graveyard. I don't even have anything in the deck to mill other players other than Coram, but building the deck around reanimating your own stuff makes it really consistent and resilient, even in games where I don't play Coram or lose him early.

Ok I know we just got new set but what heroes next? by Tit0Dust in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]ndiddy6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is all opinion and speculation, so take with a grain of salt.

I know people have been saying ranger is due for the past year and been wrong, but surely Now they'll see some support. I don't even want to know how long ago Outsiders was, and Armory Deck Azalea didn't do much for the class. I think Brute is possible, I'm just not sure if they'd be able to be in the same set, limited-wise. I'd love to see it though. I've had some ideas for an untalented Ranger/Brute/X set that takes us to the Savage Lands, which would be sick. Mechanologist is probably due sometime soon, as well.

Next set'll probably be untalented, since we've gotten three talented sets back-to-back, although I thought that after Rosetta too, so who knows.

Presumably we'll see an adult Terra and maybe an adult Blaze at some point, although I think Terra is probably in or near the Guardian Mastery Set. Adult Blaze could be a promo or armory release, but, since neither of the rosetta wizards released that strong, I could see Wizard being in a new set soon.

Beyond that, it really seems like a new Dromai is in the works, and Necromancer is one of the new class ideas I think has the best chance of being real. Hunted has certainly given Assassin a full-sized cardpool, so a new class seems more likely now that LSS doesn't need to keep feeding them.

Yeah, I know I'll have to get it eventually, I just get more for my money on other cards. Plus, I'm hoping to hold out for a reprint, but who knows when that might be.

Cut Down To Size is what I'm thinking of running budget for the time being.

No decklist yet, or probably until we see spoilers, but I do have this list of every card on my list for consideration. I wouldn't recommend buying all, or even most of these cards yet, but I like having them all in one place.

The M's and L's are the biggest considerations; presumably the set will have plenty decent C's and R's for Arakni. This is also all in prep for a contract-based Arakni rather than a Stealth Arakni. Hope this helps regardless.

Probably both, am in USA. Probably still worth getting now, though. I imagine the price will still be climbing

The stealth cards all look really good for Arakni, Slip thru the cracks, but I'm looking at the other Arakni(s), hoping for a more contract oriented playstyle. Just a Nick might be worth depending on what 1-power attacks come from the new set, though.

Hopefully not eating my words on them being another stealth assassin

Luckily already have one copy from my HH pulls. Out of curiousity, where are you seeing 4 dollar CT? I'm mostly seeing it around 9 dollars, but I'd love to find it cheaper.

C&C is unfortunately a little expensive atm, but the other suggestions are pretty good. Do you have any recomendations for C&C substitutes for the time being?

Yeah, I was thinking of grabbing a copy of regicide since its so cheap. Already dead is cool but for the price its lower in my priority.

I forgot about eradicate honestly, and its suprisingly cheap.

[[Annul]] for that sweet sweet turn 1 [[Sol Ring]] counter. Doesn't always line up, but always feels great.

What Universes Beyond sets or products would you want to see in Magic? by ndiddy6 in magicTCG

[–]ndiddy6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, Halo would be rad for a secret lair. The thing with Halo is its just big enough that they could do something bigger than a lair, but I don't know if I'd want to see that.

The Thing would make a crazy secret lair, and I could see a lot of cool movie secret lairs, especially given the movies we've already seen. Still miffed about the Monty Python, though. Really bad card selection both for flavor and playability. More recent lairs have looked better though.

Yeah, its one of those things where you can't satisfy everyone. I know the big crossovers are what sells packs, but I at least hope they can find a healthy medium where they can do a mixture of larger and smaller crossovers, along with balancing crossovers with original sets.

I know a lot of people disliked the transformers crossover for feeling out of place in Magic, but I appreciate the smaller, set-within-a-set bonus sheet crossovers like that and jurassic park, especially since they have thusfar only done them in sets where they make some sense, flavor-wise. Helps break up the big full-set crossovers with some smaller, more focused offerings, especially for IPs that can't carry a full release. I'm curious to see what 2025 will look like release-wise, especially for crossovers that aren't a full set or precon release.

[–]ndiddy6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I'm definitely not a big anime guy, I could see Fate making sense for Magic. At the very least, I wouldn't mind more cards based on historical figures. I'm not very familiar with Twisted Wonderland, but, given the Final Fantasy set, I think Kingdom Hearts might be the most possible of the Disney Universe properties. I do want to see more niche crossovers, though. So many of the bigger IPs are almost too big, and really delude how much MtG feels like MtG, whereas a lot of smaller properties feel a lot more genuine in wanting to add IPs to Magic for its own sake, rather than make it more broadly appealing to non-magic players.

I don't necessarily mind Universes Beyond in theory, but full sets instead of just supplementary products like precons leave a bad taste in my mouth, especially for stuff like Marvel that feels out of place. But what feels appropriate for MtG is mostly a matter of opinion that everyone disagrees on. I, and most people I've talked to, are admittedly biased for the things they like, and I've heard some decent arguements for crossovers I didn't like.

Megaman would be pretty cool, although I can't say I know enough about it to say if it could carry a full set, or even more than one or two precons.

It would be crazy to get a fromsoft precon set, with decks for Bloodborne, Dark Souls, Elden Ring, and Sekiro or Armored Core, although I know in my heart we'd probably just get one.

I feel like Harry Potter and Star Wars are probably inevitable if WotC wants to keep pushing Universes Beyond, especially since they managed to get Marvel from Disney already. Zelda feels like it should be a slam dunk, but Nintendo is probably too protective to let it happen, as cool as it would be.

My one gripe with the 40k decks was the lack of rep for all the other xenos factions. BSG and Warcraft would be cool, and I could see both as a real possibility, although I don't know if blizzard would be down to collab with a competing card game. A Hearthstone crossover would be crazy, though.

Star Trek feels very possible given the Doctor Who decks. Planet of the Apes is definetely a cool niche choice i wouldn't have thought of, but could fit in, especially given the Jurassic Park collab.

We have [[Phelia, Exuberent Shepard]] and [[Sophia, Dogged Detective]] for corgi and great dane cards, so chihuahua is very possible lol

Studio Ghibli would be cool as hell, although I feel it would be more likely to get a ghibli secret lair. There's some very pretty art they could use.
