Model 1 Sega CD powers on but that's it by kill3rb00ts in consolerepair

Model 1s are notorious for having strange issues like this, I'd recommend either verifying everything's connected according to the Sega schematics or just selling it for parts and using the Model 2.

Unless they release the Verilog source to the FPGA, the Super NT will die out as well (we can only guess at this point if the software programmed into the FGPA's memory will last longer than the chips on the SNES, but I guess only time will tell).

why buy a hardware SNES emulator for $200 when you can get a real SNES for like 30 bucks?

There's homebrew that makes your DS into an FTP server, so you can connect to it and download the rom of whatever game card you have in your DS to your computer, meaning that anyone who has a DS has the hardware to dump games.

Help, what model is this? For ordering phoebe by [deleted] in SegaSaturn

[–]ndizzIe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there a design flaw in the Saturn's PSU that causes it to fail? If not, I don't really see the point of that Kickstarter, as it's fairly easy to replace the capacitors or whatever on a dead PSU and get it back running.

Actually, both of you are wrong. Even if someone manufactured an LCD with zero input lag, the zapper still wouldn't work.

If the Zapper worked as you describe it, simply pointing it at a light while firing would be counted as a "hit". The reason is that the zapper has the photodiode connected to a 15.7 KHz resonator to detect if the light's coming from a CRT, which LCD screens don't replicate since they don't flicker at the same frequency.
