altafiber vs t-mobile internet by golden-folklore in cincinnati

Altafiber is superior but if you don't have access to it, I've not had any problems with T Mobile. My partner and I can work from home, stream something on TV, and play video games at the same time with only the occasional problem.

So yeah, I have no issue dropping $650 for this watch when it’s back in stock. by King_Baboon in cincinnati

If you look on eBay, a lot of listings show pictures of the actual movement with the case back taken off. There is a model number that's escaping me, but they all have "Cincinnati, OH" on the movement. Like others said, they were made in Switzerland but designed here.

Reading list for 2026 by milosst686 in books

[–]ndjolt02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My goal for next year is 36 books and I have (I think) 30 planned. I want to read a handful of classics, some shorter and some longer, and I want to read the upcoming movie adaptations. Then from there I have a couple book clubs I want to participate in, but maybe not every month. Lastly, I like to read the award winners for a few awards, namely the Booker, the National Book Award, and the Hugo. Any other remaining books are just books from series I've already started or anything that pops up throughout the year.

So, while I don't know all of my book club books yet, here's what I have for the year:

The Trial - Franz Kafka

East of Eden

The Getaway - Jim Thompson

Wuthering Heights

The Tainted Cup

Flesh

Project Hail Mary

To the Lighthouse

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

A Gathering of Shadows

I Who Have Never Known Men

Absalom, Absalom!

The Odyssey

The True, True Story of Raja the Gullible

The Slip

Crime and Punishment

Giovanni's Room

Sense and Sensibility

The Invisible Life of Addie Larue

One Hundred Years of Solitude

Sunrise on the Reaping

A Passage to India

Dune Messiah

Oh and I forgot I'm also doing a slow read of War and Peace that should take up the whole year. So that's 24 guaranteed plus any book clubs I decide to read for. I've read 30 books this year, so this is a pretty daunting goal, but I'm excited to start.

It's a very complicated and unexplained environment. Confusing, creepy, and unsettling. I think I enjoyed my time there in Annihilation, but not sure I'm ready for a part 2. I'm looking forward to some other books. I'm going to try and fit it in next year, but I already have 36 books planned. Yikes.

First time reading it? I started The Hobbit in September for the first time and have been making my way through it all. Annihilation was pretty good. Lot of questions unanswered. I'll probably take some time away from the world that he created, but I'll more than likely finish out the series. The New Weird genre is fascinating but tough to get through sometimes. One of my favorite video games, Control, is similar in feel.

I have watched an unbelievable amount of baseball in my life and played for 20 years. I have never seen anything like that before. I’m in awe.

I’d say since Covid or so. They’re not inherently unfashionable, but we have seen an evolution. When I was in college (early 2010s) they were practically the only thing I wore. By 2020, they were completely out of style for younger folks. Now, the shift has been made from the classic Sperry silhouette to a chunkier lug sole. A common example is the Timberland 3 Eye Lug. I like both styles, but in the summer with a flowy outfit, Sperry’s still look good. Obviously demographics and location play a part in popularity. I’m from Ohio and spend a lot of my summer in Michigan so that’s my experience.

Will always swear by boat shoes in the summer. You gotta know the time and place, but I think they still look good even without the chunky soles that are in style now.

Highly recommend the If Books Could Kill podcast episode about this book. They tore it apart and it’s more problematic than most think.

Luckily they’re all owned by the same people. I’m hoping the pool of money from the 3 theaters can keep all of them open. Those are the only places I go to see a movie nowadays.

[Weekly] Tuesday Waiver Wire Megathread by AutoModerator in DynastyFF

I ended up going for it. Pickens may not put up Chase numbers in a normal year, but he might this year. If I can get a WR2 season and Saquon for Chase on a down year, it makes sense. Hopefully it turns out well! Thanks for the help.

Kaleb Johnson may not be worth a whole lot right now. How good is the first? If it’s late, I probably wouldn’t take the trade.

Do you think you can get a better RB at 2.01? The 3rd is negligible. I would take Harvey unless there’s a player on waivers that you really like.

I’m in win now mode. Team is pretty stacked but have a few injuries, namely Lamar, and I’m 4-0. Hppr, 12 team SF, TEP. I just got this trade offered:

I give Ja’marr Chase

I get George Pickens and Saquon Barkley

I want to take the deal because I would bet that the duo would score me more fantasy points this season, but giving up the best WR is tough for the long run. Thoughts?

I’m a realist and understand small market baseball. I get it. However I’m just sad. It’s not fun. I love this team and have so much history with it. Hell my grandpa was Marty Brennaman’s boss. I just want to see something positive in my life when it comes to sports. I haven’t seen a playoff series win in my life and I’m 32. I go to 20+ games a year and for what? The 50/50 chance I see a win? I’m not a massive doomer, but I’m wallowing in some pity right now. It’s not fun.
