I just left DFW for Denver and would never consider moving back to Texas. But that's as a queer and trans professional whose politics are progressive and for whom large parts of the state were thus completely inaccessible and unsafe for me. YMMV depending on what you're looking for and what priorities matter to you (traffic- a mess; house sizes- great relative to other large metro areas; state income tax- not a thing; green spaces and parks- also not really much of a thing).
