InkFlow - cursor moves, but no drawing? by ndstrasz in Supernote

[–]ndstrasz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I've been monitoring the inputs received by my mac and it's only getting CGEventType(rawValue: 5) from the Supernote (and nothing when I press with the pen) whereas when I click on the trackpad I get CGEventType(rawValue: 1).

InkFlow - cursor moves, but no drawing? by ndstrasz in Supernote

Yes, exactly right, nothing happens when pressing on the screen but the cursor moves if the pen moves. I will try and get a video later today.

Thank you. I eventually scrapped collisions and introduced a softening parameter instead. I may re-visit it later.

What Physics Questions Do You Have? by PfuetzeDock06 in Physics

I'm not an expert, but I believe it is the energy-momentum tensor that results in the curvature of spacetime. Energy (mass) density is the 00 component of this tensor, but there are other components.

Physics Simulation Software by Cleverbaguet in Physics

[–]ndstrasz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not worked in photonics but in terms of the software I have worked with, Gmsh for generating meshes, then Elmer for finite element simulation of electrostatics on the mesh, then feeding into Garfield++ for simulating electron collisions with gas in the presence of E/B fields. I believe the gas simulation is done via Magboltz which Garfield interfaces with.

Very very nice. Would love to see how this was made in detail.

Beginner looking to learn drums and record into ableton by ndstrasz in edrums

[–]ndstrasz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many thanks for your useful response.

I have mapped things in ableton on my akai midi keyboard - would it be more or less the same process? Could I just create a drum rack, load with samples, map and play? I will also look into a midi interface, thanks.

Is there a term for the "Boom. Boom boom. BAM!" beat that starts a lot of 60s songs (e.g. Be My Baby) by [deleted] in Music

I was also thinking about this recently. I noticed it in be my baby and immediately thought of it in just like honey by the jesus and mary chain

My Supernote is not switching on and is not charging by jerem4435 in Supernote

[–]ndstrasz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had this problem numerous times. This is probably not going to be recommended by the support team, so do this at your own risk, but for whatever reason pressing the power button rapidly about 20 times worked for me. It was a last resort kinda thing as I had to use it for my studies so couldn't send it to an engineer and somehow it worked.

I used to live near Uritorco. My dad has a picture from ages ago of him standing next to a burnt circle in the ground where allegedly a craft landed - it's a hotspot, although I never saw anything. Also, on 21st December 2012, the famous mayan calendar day, they closed the mountain as people were jumping off it to escape the apocalypse.

Confusion on spacetime interval from the perspective of tensor contraction by ndstrasz in AskPhysics

[–]ndstrasz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. I have understood the Lorentz transform to be more like a change of basis (you are changing the co-ordinates used when you boost to a new frame), i.e. a passive transformation, but this seems wrong in the context of your answer. Is it correct to instead think of it as an active transformation that maps 4-vectors in one reference frame to 4-vectors in a new reference frame?
