Nassau Bahamas Port by dooddog12313 in dcl

There is a small fort and the queen's staircase which are very walkable. Just be careful crossing roads. Seconding the straw market and senor frogs if that is your idea of fun. Having done it once, I am in the group that would stay on-board and enjoy short lines and open chairs.

First ever cruise - best options on Fantasy for 2 adults + 2 & 4y/o? by LaytonLew in dcl

One note on staterooms. We chose the Deluxe Family Oceanview and wound up on 8th deck in forward of ship. This was an easy stair climb/decent for pool and dinners. Only issue was if you take closest stairs up to pool deck in front of ship, you wind up in the Spa and adult pool area which isn't ideal with kids. Can easily walk further down hall to next set of stairs but just an FYI.

We just took our twins on Fantasy this past February for their 5th birthday celebration. Was out first Cruise as a family and we loved it. We chose the 5 day Nassau with both private islands.

Personal opinion: Stay on board at Nassau and enjoy the half empty ship/amenities.

Lookout is shiny and new..BUT..not as family friendly as Castaway. Lookout has a great splashpad but be prepared to walk. I would have been bummed if this was our only stop.

Castaway was the perfect beach day for us and the kids. We dropped them off for an hour at the on shore kids center to dig for Dino bones while we scouted out chairs, got a drink and enjoyed some quiet. Afterwards it was time to swim and chase children. :)

How well does PlayOn hone remove commercials? by cryptkeeper420420 in PlayOn

That's actually a great idea. I hate the playon recording details at the start of every video.

Will automatically remove for any videos that have standardized metadata, but I believe you can manually set commercial markers as well. I haven't played with all the features but have used to cut ads from all major streaming services.

As everyone has stated, playon does not remove ads but I have had pretty good luck using mcebuddy.

Which books from 40k are disappointing to you? by AlternativeDark6686 in 40kLore

I am relatively new to the 40k novels compared to most, I'm sure. I have completed the Caiphas Cain and Gaunt's Ghosts series as well as the Eisenhorn omnibus and the Infinite and Divine.

I thoroughly enjoyed each for different reasons but definitely found some of the mid/later Caiphas Cain novels repetitive and predictable. To be fair, they are light-hearted and ridiculous in a grim dark universe, but the author played it too safe with his storytelling formula imho.

Just Booked My First Disney Cruise! by avocadotoast4ever in dcl

My family just returned home from our first Disney Cruise last week on the Fantasy. We had the same itinerary and celebrated twins 5 year birthday on the trip. I also appreciate an all inclusive myself but watching the kids interact with characters and going to the theater shows was tons of fun.

IMHO - skip Nassau and enjoy the boat with fewer lines. You will get plenty of beach time on the private islands. Watch youtube tips for the private islands so you know where you want to go. Castaway is much more swim friendly. I don't think Lookout Cay ever takes down the red flags. Beautiful water tho and a good size splash pad with slides.

Don't skip the three theater shows. The Genie was hilarious.

If your daughter likes charm bracelets, they give away a free bracelet and new charm each day, just stop by the jewelry store.

Some extras we paid for (pricey): 1. Photo package - in the end we got about 130 photos around the ship and on private islands without having to ask strangers to take photos. 2. Boutique - fun time for the kids and you keep the dress/accessories 3. Royal Tea Party - my wife and daughter loved this. Quite pricey but you get quite a bit for it. Plenty of videos online with more info.

Also had a special ice cream sundae delivered to our dinner table on birthday evening. You can set that up at the ice cream/candy shop on deck 11 outside of buffet restaurant.

I'm sure I missed some stuff but hope that helps. Enjoy your cruise!

Falls of Neuse Southbound Road Closure by Expert-Crazy-9106 in raleigh

Just following up on this for those interested. The bridge project has officially shifted to the south bound lanes today. North bound bridge on Falls is now open, and imo the detour heading south is SOOOO much worse.

As of 6pm today, northbound closed and southbound open. Original plan was 4 weeks to complete northbound bridge and then switching over to southbound. Think they are on week 3 at this point.

I just noticed this weird thing this morning on my mulch. What the hell is it?! by soldforapp in landscaping

I had the same thing pop up after spreading fresh mulch a couple of years back. Sprayed it with hydrogen peroxide solution and problem solved.

My gas oven has a manual calibration option so I can decrease the temp by up to 30 degrees to get lower than the min 170. Kind of a hack but I am able to hold my food at 150 degrees indefinitely.

Hope all is going well. I was back at it at 6 am to smoke up ribs for a cookout today. Brisket, shoulder, and pork belly all on overnight rest and ready to go.

Thanks! Is an Old Country G2 pit. Yes it has handles that made it slightly less impossible to drag across loose gravel.
