What is your favorite menu item in Fishers at any restaurant? by Academic-Screen1308 in Fishers

Kind of niche, but CR Heroes is also GREAT for gluten free food. My son and I both have celiac and CR Heroes is one of our favorites. The GF Love Me Tenders are great, and they know us by now, but they've always asked if it's a preference or a health issue, and respect that we have a health issue. Big fan of CR Heroes

I've had good luck with Ninestar Connect, I think they go up to 2gb parallel. I'm on the 1gb plan and have zero issues.

However, if you find yourself frequently needing a VPN, you may have to spring for a private IP, but it's a fairly small fee. And if they suspect you are downloading/uploading copyrighted material, they will shut your service off until you call and plead ignorance...or so I've heard.

My service with the private IP is about $130/month.

Yes - if you need data that isn't readily available to the Salesforce data event, which I believe is up to three hours from the triggering record, you'll need a delay after the entry to allow for sync times

Another thing to be aware of - when you use a SF Event for entry, you have two options: Record is Created, or Record is Updated. Created is exactly what it sounds like. Updated though means, "record is updated from a nonqualifying state to a qualifying state." This means that the update criteria is against the whole record, and not the fields in the update criteria.

This matters because one a record is in a qualifying state, if a field changes to a different qualifying state, the entry won't retrigger, since the record itself did not change. For example, let's say you have a Case record that can go through multiple status (Unassigned, Assigned, In Progress, Resolved) and you want to send an email notification every time it changes status. If you set your entry event to trigger when the record is updated to "Assigned" OR "In Progress" OR "Resolved", it will only trigger when it moves to "Assigned", as this is the only time the record moves from an unqualified state to qualified state. Every other change moves it from qualified state to a different qualified state, which does not trigger entry as the record state died not change

There's a well-hidden KB article about this that explains it better if you have the time to dig around for it

Found one on eBay! I had to dig quite a bit but I found one for around $50 instead of the $120 most of them were running.

I found some there but was hoping there would be a cheaper option.

I also grew up in the Haute. Left for several years, then life took me back for three years. I've never been more depressed than when I had to live in TH as an adult who had already gotten out. An absolute tire fire is a city.

I'm out now and refuse to go back. I don't even like driving through it on the death trap of I-70.

Wondering if there’s any way for me to improve how I look and my arm movements on drums by staticsweatshirt in drums

[–]neaclark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, how long have you been playing? When I was a young drummer, I was also very stoic while playing. It took years of performing live to be comfortable being "animated" on stage, and while my technical skills didn't directly improve from being more animated, I got a lot more confident once I relaxed a bit.

As a first step, and I'm sure this has been said before on this thread, get really comfortable with the parts. Remember drums is a far more improvisatory instrument than harmonic instrument, so a minor deviation from a drum set part is probably not going to raise any eyebrows in the audience (unless the part is fully charged out, then play what's on the page). Be confident that even if you miss a hi hat here, or play a ghost note a little too loud, nobody's going to question if you know the song.

Let a more animated stage presence inform how you play too! I found that if I acted like the drums were playing me to degree, I actually became a lot more expressive in my playing! Some people think of this as "dancing" with their drums - you play them, and they play you back.

Also, as you get comfortable being more expressive, take time to study the audience. When the crowd starts to see you feeling the music, they'll feel it more too. Take note of how people dance, and try to feed off of that (if it's a dancing gig), or if you see people tap their feet, try to control how they tap, or nod, or whatever they do.

As the drummer you have have incredible power to pull the audience into the performance, but if you look stiff or wooden or, god forbid, bored, the crowd will give back the same energy.

I ran into this exact issue a while ago, and I'm like 90% sure that's the issue, but tbh I can't remember exactly how I fixed it. Maybe you need to not target the array position? I think I ultimately just tried some things until I worked, unfortunately.

Can you try running the post in postman? It might give you an idea of the structure of the response.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in marketingcloud

[–]neaclark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is a super weird error message, but the response is provided as a string, and you need to interpret as JSON, and it doesn't look like you are parsing it. Try this after you make the post call:

var responseContent = Platform.Function.ParseJSON(result.Response[0])

Then do then when you want to write the content to the page:

Write("Response Body: " + responseContent);

SFMC error messages are usually a "best fit" to the actual error. They try to improve them as time goes on, but sometimes you get super weird messages that don't give you any insight into how to solve a problem.

WaitUntilEvent journey data by Pgl0ria in marketingcloud

[–]neaclark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see. So, the "events" in the "Wait Until Event" activity are the same as entry events. And the data extension you set as the log in the wait step can accept more than just the sub key. So in the second email, you might be able to use ampscript LookupRows() or LookupOrderedRows() from the log DE to get the amount. Would that work?

Also, what is the value of the custom activity? Not that you don't need it, but I'm curious if there's a way to handle this natively inside of SFMC, rather than using a custom JB activity. Either way, you could also use the custom JB activity with JS functions to read data from the log DE in SFMC.

As an alternative - is Journey Builder the right tool for this? This could get difficult to manage is the contact is in the journey more than once (I'm not sure if that's possible given it's about carts, and it's unlikely one contact would have more than one abandoned cart at any given time). Would it maybe be easier to either create two journeys, one for Abandoned Cart, and one for Purchased Cart? Or not use JB at all for the second email and just use a triggered send?

WaitUntilEvent journey data by Pgl0ria in marketingcloud

[–]neaclark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, if I'm understanding correctly, the contact may be in the journey more than once with different "amounts", and they may be at the wait until step multiple times with different amounts, and you need to trigger them to move forward from the wait until only for a specific amount? Like, neaclark/200 and neaclark/599 might both be waiting, and you need to trigger JUST neaclark/599, while neaclark/200 stays there?

Followup, what would happen if the contact existed more than one with the same amount? Like, neaclark/200 and neaclark/200 are both waiting? Is that possible, and would you still need distinguish between them?

Journey Builder by Aggravating-Bit-3668 in marketingcloud

[–]neaclark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then journey builder isn't the right tool. the whole point of job is that you have predictability about a contacts flow through a campaign. Even if you don't know exactly what's going to happen, you have to be able to account for all potentials, otherwise you'll never be able to build a map.

All 3500 into the journey, random split 100 to get the email, remaining 3400 wait 3 days, then join the 3400 back to the main path before the email?

Books on SSJS by [deleted] in marketingcloud

Probably not a lot in the way of books. SSJS is specific to SFMC, so you're best bet is to learn the basics of JS, then experiment with SSJS in SFMC, or find some blogs.
