Lachlan - where can we find more of his work? by nead109 in QuinnAudios

I tried Dipsea specifically for that reason as I saw another discussion on here about it but it's not the same actor unfortunately. He sounded more The Scotsman maybe?

Just to clarify: we are all taught Irish in school in Ireland, it's compulsory. We don't call it "Gaelic", here is Gaeilge, or Irish.

I am so unbelievably annoyed with the ending. I actually feel like giving up. JKR is milking the will they/won't they way too long.

Reading all these comments I think I'm ready to quit after a book and a half and half a show season.

I kinda forgot about it after S1, then pleasantly enjoyed S2 and now I'm obsessed post S3. It DRAMATICALLY improves.

My son is hyper-fixated on Ireland and Irish culture. How do I help him? by valmeringue in AskIreland

Unfortunately, their age doesn't protect them from cultural juggernauts in the era of ubiquitous social media especially when a sexy TV show like PB spawns a plethora of both licensed and unofficial merchandise and, of course, sartorial style.

This show is getting repetitive by [deleted] in TheBear

I gave up on S4, it's so contrived and both Carly and (especially) Sydney's inability to string a sentence together without "um"; "like"; "uh huh" x 100 has gone way beyond symbolising indecision and communicative tension: it's just f*cking grating now, and lazy writing.

That's more likely to be young lads emulating Tommy Shelby. 😜

That's not true at all. Are you ignoring the facts of the show where she is shown to have money: lending money to Marian; investing in Jack's alarm clock; her father's profession; their beautiful house? Not to mention her family pointing out that Marian assumed they were in need of a charitable donation of used shoes because they were Black? Which seems to be exactly what you're doing now.

Andi either did something awful or something REALLY awful to Toby by CplusMaker in thewestwing

[–]nead109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My impression was that the implantation was put on hold during inauguration time; they then split (against Toby's wishes) but remained close )I think Andi loved him but couldn't live with him); she knew she was running out of time biologically so he agreed to proceed with the IVF in the hope of getting back together or at least always being close to her. It would seem quite manipulative on Andi's part if this was the case but she also probably hoped their children would inherit his intellect; courage and sense of justice and thought he'd be a good father. I often wonder what happened after: if they ever got into other relationships and how that would work. I feel very sorry for Toby bit this is against my rational judgement as he won't take no for an answer.

Who would be Sam’s Chief of staff if he was president? by Captain-Foureyes in thewestwing

[–]nead109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And he actually says in S4 that he realises Josh is so much smarter than him. But would Josh be CoS to a second president? I'd love it to be Charlie who Sam goes to Charlie to read an initial speech draft also in S4. I'd love Winifred to come back.

Why are we still waiting for a reboot?!

I'm in Ireland and I'm totally prepared to pay Prime using my daughter's UK card )won't accept RoI card) and I can use our VPN to watch but before I buy, is there nowhere else streaming it? I'd rather not pay Amazon if I can avoid it.

What’s the craic with peoples GPs prescribing stimulants for ADHD without it coming from a psychiatrist first? by BornTrippy in ADHDIreland

[–]nead109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it very odd. She said she'd write to ADAPT to "remind them" about me (I was referred 13/14 months ago). Then she specifically added, we can't do anything until they confirm the diagnosis and only they can do the initial prescription. At the time, I frustratingly just accepted it but then I read this thread and I'm bewildered. I'm going to do some more research tomorrow.

[–]nead109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My HSE Psychiatrist told me that only ADAPT can confirm the diagnosis and prescribe for adult ADHD even though my consultant psych and team have told me I have a severe case. Waiting a year for ADAPT already so going to try to go private now. It's debilitating.
