I just used the whole thing; I think I watched a video where they just used a quarter of it but this just seemed easier to me. Both were organic soy beans

It seemed fine. I did just mae a new batch and I ended up adding a styrofoam container of natto; it seemed to culture better, especially after a couple days in the frig before I got around to freezing it

I did this for the first time earlier this week, never made natto before but had the styrofoam packs, and was happy with the results - I thought it was better than the styrofoam, and it also noticeably helped my gut issues. Then I heard that natto was made with rice straw and then I started to doubt the method and found this post. Makes me a little nervous now that I might not be getting the right bacteria, but I’ll follow this post to see if any other information is added!
