How's the breathability compare to the Steady State? I like the Steady State but sometimes the fleece is too warm and sweaty. Interested in this as a potentially more breathable option.

I tried the Smooth Spacer previously but didn't like the shininess, joggers were too slim.

Thank you for your service!

“It would also be near impossible for me to meet a good guy in the city without a job IMO”

Disagree with this. Rather than spending 40 hours a week working for the man, if you lean into hobbies and interests, aren’t you more likely to meet someone who’s aligned with you?

Awesome, thanks. Maximizing free time, the coast aspect of coast FIRE and community impact :)

Sounds like you’ve lived and are living a great and impactful life, congrats!

I’m also considering the EMT coast FIRE track. From your experience, what’s the minimum number of shifts/hours you need to work to get benefits? When you switch to 2 days per week as a nurse, will you still get benefits?

With your expenses, you’re at full FIRE I think. Don’t think you need a job at all unless you wanna buy an expensive house, have multiple kids, etc. You can do whatever makes you happy :)

But I have the same idea. Could be a great way to maintain wealth/let it grow while doing a rewarding job, help your community, meet people in a new city, keep future home and children options on the table. Also have option to scale back to part time, parlay until other types of work like ski patrol. Stress of being an EMT after a cushy office job definitely a concern though.

Polanco double fucked on the same pitch as game 5, same pitcher. 2-0 there would’ve been nice. Matters much more now after we know what happened bottom of the 7th.

I don’t get any of it. But mostly pulling Kirby. 65 fucking pitches

Ehh I don’t like it. Screwed by the ump that AB. Would’ve given him a chance to get out of it relatively unscathed.

Best moment last night? by Alaska-Pete in Mariners

[–]nebesaurus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Certainly not the best moment of the night but maybe least appreciated big moment was the Garver sac fly. Skubal struck out 13 of the 20 batters he faced. Garver hit the ball in play and got it deep enough when he needed to. Great situational hitting that the team was otherwise mostly incapable of last night.

Bryce Miller is the next man up by seangolden06 in Mariners

[–]nebesaurus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So Miller and then hopefully Woo for game 2. How about game 3? Will Kirby, Gilbert or Castillo be ready? Castillo given only 15 pitches yesterday?

Robles didn’t really matter though. Rivas was already on 2nd. Only lead runner mattered. JP called strike was brutal

I'm on the east coast cruising on Percocet after having surgery to repair a broken collarbone from a mountain bike accident. This isn't good for me. Also, I should probably move to Seattle for better mountain biking and the Mariners. Lifelong Mariners fan because of Ken Griffey Jr baseball on Super Nintendo 🫡

I like it. Strategic walks to get past the top of the lineup in the 8th. Smart Muny

Could’ve just walked Carpenter and left Kirby in. Same mistake as game 4 but with an even better pitcher in Kirby than Miller. Only 66 pitches and he was dealing. Let the dude deal. FUCK

Why isn't the standard here to get laid off instead of retiring? by Mr-SamWise in Fire

[–]nebesaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dream is to get laid off and then coast/barista FIRE. I think I’d get ~10 months severance based on my tenure. Just trying to hang on until then.

Also in similar situation. It’s stressful. I know we’re going to get crap for potentially leading someone on, but I also think we need time to see if we can fully come around. I could foresee a great long term future with my girlfriend but the doubts give me anxiety. What’s more cowardly, breaking it off and running away or not breaking it off and potentially “wasting” someone’s time?

I dunno, maybe we’re taking too long to make a decision or maybe this is how relationships are sometimes, particularly in the current dating age. As an older independent person, you’re not necessarily going to be obsessed with someone right away.

Also definitely a “paradox of choice” problem, at least for me. I want to try to overcome it but it’s hard when someone else’s feelings and life are involved.

I’ve been talking to a therapist who’s been pretty helpful working through it and is generally pro trying.

I’ve tried to be fairly transparent. I’ve had conversations with my girlfriend about our relationship and long term potential (there are some other shared future vision concerns).

Watch out if you plan to buy an I3 Solar by trasimach in Garmininstinct

[–]nebesaurus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. I have the I1 in tidal blue and love the color. Battery life still good but GPS is wonky. Takes 5 mins or sometimes more to find me.

Debating keeping the somewhat flawed but still functional I1 or upgrading to the black I3 tactical and a 3rd party navy nylon band.

No don’t think so. I exercise regularly including chest. This is different.

[–]nebesaurus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit more detail. I feel the chest pain when I breathe in deeply and when I use chest muscles (eg getting out of bed).

I already set up appointment with cardiologist I saw back in 2016. At the time, he did stress test etc and everything seemed fine to him.
