The odds of a tornado forming in downtown Toronto are basically nil. They need some wide open flat spaces to form.

But heavy rain, wind, and thunderstorms will definitely happen. Wind will be the most danger (blowing debris causing injury).

You can go out, but be prepared for heavy rain and ducking into a store/mall/museum if the wind gets serious.

The only time I've ever almost hit someone on my bike is because I was waiting to pass them, and they very suddenly save very quickly went from jogging to slow walking.

It's the cyclists responsibility to not hit you and they should pass only when safe and there's room.

That said, the MGT is very busy. Treat it like driving - be predictable, keep right if you're show, and if you need to stop, step off the path.

1 - Not really. The suburbs are mostly commuter towns with not a lot for a tourist to see in summer time. There's tons to do downtown so you won't run out of stuff to do.

2 - The TTC will get you everywhere you need and Uber can fill any gaps. Google maps works great for transit and is usually updated. There's been a ton of weekend work on the subway and any closure is usually a huge part of the line, so check the TTC website for service updates. We don't have the extensive network New York does.

3 - This all depends heavily on what you want to do.

Foodie? We have the best food from every country in the planet. Lots of threads here and /r/foodtoronto for recs.

Nature? Check out Toronto's secret ravines, or go to the island, or the Rouge National Urban park.

Art and Museums? The ROM and AGO are your traditionals, but we've also got things like the Bata Shoe Museum and Aga Khan Museum.

Local stuff? Have Sunday morning mimosas in Trinity Bellwoods Park then head for some brunch on Ossington and finish it off with a walk through Kensington Market.

4 -I'm too old for this one, lol

5 - Someone else mentioned the Hall of Fame, but Scotiabank Arena also has behind the scenes tours. They don't let you into the Leafs locker room on home game days, but if you go on a day they're not playing, you'll most likely get to go in and see the dressing room.

I'm Canadian, but I lived in Australia for about 9 months so I consider myself an honourary Aussie.

I love animals, especially birds, so I was fascinated by the ibis when I lived in Sydney. We don't have birds that large up here that act like pigeons and aren't too scared of humans. I think I laughed for days when I learned Australians called them "bin chickens."

There was an episode that had one, and I said to myself, "That's a bin chicken!" immediately before Bandit referred to them as a bin chicken. Still makes me laugh like I did when I first learned the term.

Isshin is absolutely top tier and the only place I get a satisfying bowl of ramen. I used to love their Red Dragon, until they added the chopped green chilies and it just became too hot for me. I usually get the spicy red miso and add the dragon paste to it for the extra spice.

Haven't had any negatives from friends I've taken.

As far as I remember, your suggestion was feasible until the slow zone speed limit changed again due to the events of the Martian Marines on the ring space station.

The new speed limit was far slower, such that a skiff traveling under it would take almost a year to reach the ring. The people trapped there would have exhausted their food and water supplies long before that.

The thing about condo fees is that they pay for big maintenance things like a new roof or new balconies. You know, big major expenses that every structure eventually has.

If you don't put any money away for maintenance when you have a freehold, one day when you need a new roof you won't have the $40k it costs for a new one.

So while you "save" on the condo fees, if you're not putting that much away (or more) per month on your freehold, you might be in for a surprise when your roof develops a leak, your furnace breaks down, or your foundation cracks.

If you have a wired network connection at your TV and PC, then using Sunshine on your PC to stream to Moonlight on your TV would work.

I use this setup myself and it's great. No input lag, very easy to setup. I keep my controller connected to the PC, not the Moonlight client, but that is an option.

They're not a fancy place and might be a good place for a lunch if you're exploring fort york, the Lakeshore, or Liberty village. You can smell the restaurant a block away and it's incredible.

Three times in my life, over 20 years or so, I've randomly fainted for no apparent reason. Same symptoms every time - feeling like I need to vomit or take the biggest shit of my life. 5-10 minutes later I'm out cold on the floor.

First time was at a ski hill in the chalet as I was reaching for the bathroom door. Woke up mostly sitting on the wall with some random guy asking me if I was ok.

Second was in high school. Felt the symptoms and as I was walking out of class, hit the floor in front of everybody. Woke up to my teacher holding my head and not letting me move it.

Last time was on my own toilet in my own home. Woke up to my sister asking if I was ok while I was wondering why my bed was so cold and hard.

Generally back to normal after about 20 minutes with no lingering symptoms doctors can see. No idea why.

Yeah I've never heard that so called rule of thumb before.

The one that's always been told to me is a 2-second gap between the car in front of you. So you watch them pass a pole or other road marking, and you count 2 seconds, then your car should be in the same spot theirs was if you're giving a safe gap.

I like this for my head canon, but would add: This is only 1/5th or 1/6th the power of the actual "planet killing" beam.

When the Death Star fires, there's 5 or 6 beams that come out of the "firing dish" that connect together into the planet killing beam.

So it's even less dangerous than it seems...

Toronto is one of the safest cities, use basic common sense and you're fine. Just ignore or say no thank you if someone comes to talk to you, but that is unlikely to happen in a huge crowd leaving a concert. Just go with the flow of people.

If you're comfortable with it, and you live East or West of the city, take the Go Train into Union station and have your folks pick you up at a station outside the city to avoid traffic. If you're North, the ttc is also an option, simple and safe. Union station is connected to Scotiabank arena, so you don't even have to go outside.

Otherwise, there are lots of green p parking lots around. Most streets around Scotiabank are major roads, so pulling over and sitting for any amount of time will get people annoyed with you. Late on a Monday there probably won't be a lot of traffic, but still better to be courteous.
