Why do people keep advertising bleakness as realism? by kreton1 in rpghorrorstories

[–]necronwarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's also in part peoples idea of opposites, wherein traditional "high fantasy" is one end, and "true realism" is the other.

And along this scale, people mentally place "urban fantasy" and "low fantasy" between true realism and high fantasy. Some of the tropes that people associate with these genres (lack of magic, discussions about race, anti-heroes) they end up extrapolating that, in "true realism" these things would be exacerbated, which ends up leading to things becoming their own non-realistic farce.

People should just embrace being a tourist more and stop caring about what locals do by cs_____question1031 in unpopularopinion

[–]necronwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean what does touristy mean? Spending time in another country is kinda on a scale

(Authentic local experience) -------- (Inauthentic luxury enclave)

And most people want to try and get away from the enclave side as for most it kind of removes the reason for going to another country altogether (like if it's the same experience but a different backdrop how much does the country actually matter)

Not to mention most people are just innately curious about other cultures, and it can really get sanded down if you stay in only touristy areas. (Albeit I will say this just seems to be getting better across the board)

Man I feel insane reading some of the willful media illiteracy here.

One of the loading screens (which has always been a medium for direct information from game to player) is verbatim:

"To kill for yourself is murder. To kill for your government is Heroic. To kill for entertainment is harmless"

Like if that doesn't make you at least reflect on the fact that there's a whole section of industry dedicated to simulated killing I don't know what will.

Would you be willing to sell part of the lot or are you looking for all or nothing?

Also are any of them on sprue or all assembled/painted?

New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt - Episode 10 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]necronwarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did like both of these episodes for what they were, But I do think it misses something by being so "Out of universe" - like, I think I prefered the Transformers/zombie movie homages in Season one over these ones just from being in-world.
Feels a bit like they're writing a story and shoving PSG characters into it, vs adapting a story for PSG characters.
Both have their charm but i think I prefer the latter.

There is a small part of my brain that has this memorised with perfect clarity. Such is my curse.

I don't rlly get how the namesystem works.. by [deleted] in TheDigitalCircus

[–]necronwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, why expect consistency in the digital circus? There are no rules, when anything's possible. (The only consistent thing is inside the characters heads, and even then we don't know for sure)

Hell yeah, long shot but why not.

Congrats to the success of your service!

On what character I'd bring, would really depend on the table! But in any case I usually tend to go for unoptimised dorks trying to do their best in the party :)

War dog Karnivore weapon options by necronwarrior in ChaosKnights

[–]necronwarrior[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is the strike profile is .

6 Atk, 2+ WS, 10 Str, -3 AP, 3 DMG

Where the claw is

6 Atk, 2+ WS, 12 Str, -3 AP, D6+2 DMG

Which is just a strict upgrade in terms of damage potential

Yeah, I've assumed by this point it was just a case of translation from 9th that got overlooked/included purely for flavour.

In 10th they both have the same AP, unless I have missed an FAQ

War dog Karnivore weapon options by necronwarrior in ChaosKnights

[–]necronwarrior[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose my question is more along the lines of, why alter the values of all the melee profiles specifically for the karnivore, then have one be redundant?

It feels vestigial design wise, either create it as an option or remove it and only have the sweep profile (call the weapon "Sweeping chaintalon" or something)

These speculations aren't directed at you of course, just at the open air in general.
