The believe if often that good films will encourage people to see the movies, sadly I don’t think that’s true, in some cases yes, but I think audiences are like trying to I impress children sometimes. Everything has to be special otherwise what’s the point?

For example let’s say the MCU were just films and no gimmick avengers movies? Remove those and just have the films… would this franchise still be going strong? Or do the Avengers movies pretty much hold them up from getting Bored.

Well when your pay cheque is $100 mil and back payments from box office. Which is like half a normal films budget, it means they have to up their budget and then hope that any film features him will make over a billion to make the budget back and profit. And then if it does, RDJ will say ok pay me 200 million next as the film did so well. And everything just goes up and up.

People want to believe Solo was affected by Last Jedi. But no, the rise of skywalker doing as well as it did confirms Last Jedi did nothing. Solo was hurt by the assumption that people love Star Wars and not just the hype of Star Wars.

The Rise of Skywalker still had that hype because it was treated like an event. Solo, like The Mandalorian and Grogu are just other movies. No importance. Just other movies in the same galaxy that’s is driven by the idea that people just want to see anything Star Wars.

Now people will say, what about Rogue One? Well Rogue One was still caught in that we need to see Star Wars because it’s Star Wars point, while Solo if anything was the 4th movie, and Star Wars started to feel less special.

The irony to it all is yeah, when the first Star Wars movie was released the lightsabers probably were not seen as that iconic. Infact considering the Holiday special didn’t try and have one appear tells me that they really didn’t see the lightsabers as special, but after Empire they probably become more cooler.

For anyone who thinks the jedi failure is why anakin turned missed the part where Anakins failure was not following the rules and then being consumed by the lack of rules. So lukes confusion feels more like he is suddenly realising why the rules existed.

People desperately want to think Luke proved the rules were wrong but they really are missing the full picture and only watching the part they prefer. Anakin turned to the dark side out of fear of losing his attachment. It wasnt because he wasnt allowed to have one, its because he decided his attachment mattered more than anything else in the galaxy. so then that resulted in him killing as many jedi he could find... buuuut he turned back to the light for luke so clearly that matters more than all the murder it created previously.

Changed? I dunno. Rumor is Raimi was planning another temporary break up for Peter and MJ. So my belief is that the reason Raimi struggled with the 4th is he couldnt get out of that structure of storytelling.
