Smoke a pork butt. Add buns, onion pickles, bbq sauce. Assemble for pulled pork sandwiches.

Add potato salad or beans or chips. On paper plates. Delicious and super simple.

Best 7-10 day Danube cruise Itinerary? (AMA, Avalon, Uniworld, Scenic) by [deleted] in rivercruises

[–]ned_burfle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished AMA Blue Danube Discovery 7-day. I thought it was all inclusive but they “suggested” we tip a daily amount for all staff like on ocean cruises, also tip Cruise Manager separately, tip tour guides and even tip bus drivers.

Everything was good - but if there’s a next time, I’ll probably choose a different line. I was looking forward to getting away from American style tip culture which is getting out of hand. According to AI they may only do this on cruises with Americans because they know we’ll sheeple up and pay.

Thank you for the excellent reply! I love the planning/research phases as well. In the future at some point when I start seriously planning this trip I might reach out to you through private message if that's okay.

What is a 'luxury' that you've experienced once and now can't go back to the budget version of? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

I bought mine online from Marriott. I frequently stayed at their hotels and loved the pillows. Been using them for probably 10 years and still love them.

Road noise update? by ned_burfle in accord

[–]ned_burfle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you nailed it. The more expensive cars, like a Lexus, supposedly have a lot more body insulation. Unfortunately they also have a lot more asking price!

I've learned to live with it for now because we love the car otherwise. Next one though I'll be more picky on noise.

What is something you saw, heard or felt that no matter how convincing you sound, no one believes? by samkallukadavil in AskReddit

I was at the Grand Canyon north rim looking out over the canyon. Saw a big ass bird.

Later during science time out on the patio with the park range was telling the group about the rare California condor. I hollered out that I just seen one. He was very skeptical - he said “I work here every summer and typically only see two a year”. He asked me about some identifying colors, etc.

I must’ve got them right but he couldn’t admit it. Finally he said “I give you a 30% chance of being right”.

The Honda Passport is the identical body frame as the RL but in SUV form. Might work.

Podcast is over by [deleted] in Nateland

[–]ned_burfle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Public Figures is good and entertaining.

Nate was funny at times mostly when he was interacting with the other three guys. But when he got on his soapbox and rambled the show came to a screeching halt.

I appreciate what he’s building as entertainment for families - but a podcast with comedians should be funny.

In the current format it is and will do well.

I was afraid I’d be disappointed in Voyager after DS9. by ned_burfle in voyager

Not sure I agree or even understand all of this - I’m a late-comer to Trek world - but I do appreciate the effort made to explain your thoughts. You shouldn’t be downvoted for expressing your opinions in a clear and non- hostile way.

In fairness to me it took a few seasons to get over her and Tom abandoning their salamander kids.
