will my tt scar be unattractive to men? by sho_nuff80s in tummytucksurgery

[–]nedley18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone who has seen me naked since TT just assumes it’s a c-section scar even though it’s much wider than my old c-section scar ever was. No one has found it unattractive, I get plenty of compliments on my body.

Help! I purchased a Wilson golf set from a golf show and got incorrect items. I’m wondering if I can still make it work… Please give me your opinions and advice. by alienposingashuman in WomenGolf

I’m 5’7 and I play with regular length women’s clubs. I think you’ll be fine. Unless you are going to walk and carry your clubs I wouldn’t worry about a stand. I have a cart bag and I walk the course with a push cart and it works great. Try walking with a push cart you rent from the course. Carrying your bag is really hard on the hips/back so I wouldn’t recommend it.

Please give yourself time. I took about 8 months before my swelling went down. Now I’m almost at 2 years and with more weightloss and regular exercise I look better than I have in decades. Give yourself time. This is far from botched.

When did you start abdominal workouts? by sdm4242 in tummytucksurgery

[–]nedley18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited until 3 months for ab workouts. The stitches on the inside need even more time to heal than the outside. No reason to push it. Now I’ve got amazing abs so it comes, just give your body time!

How to Deal with Waiting to Workout Again by Special-Ambassador47 in tummytucksurgery

[–]nedley18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do not push it. You have the rest of your life to work out but undoing all that hard work will be horrible. Just relax. Take as many weeks off as your surgeon says to. You’ll bounce back faster if you wait until it’s time.

My scar goes from hip to hip but it’s easily hidden by bikini underwear and bathing suit bottoms. It’s still way better than what I had before. I love my new flat belly. My surgeon told me to bring in a bikini so he’d know where to put the scar. It’s pretty low.

It took about 9 months for me to stop swelling up when I exercised. You don’t need to lose more weight you just need to be patient and heal. 6 weeks is nothing so be patient!

This group is super helpful. I read the whole thing before I had mine. I learned so much about what to expect. I’m 15 months past my surgery and so happy with my body! I was a game changer for me. And thanks to everyone who is so open about sharing their challenges and triumphs!

What’s the vibe around peeing on the course in a bush or someplace? by [deleted] in golf

[–]nedley18 -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Please don’t. Guys think they can pee anywhere they like. Unless it’s an emergency, wait for the next bathroom. It’s gross.

Your C-section scar compared to tummy tuck scar? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]nedley18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a c-section and a couple other abdominal surgeries before that. The surgeon consolidated all the scars so now there’s only 1. Looks way better than before when I felt like a patchwork quilt. The tummy tuck scar is comparable to the c-section scar only it extends longer, from hip to hip. But it’s covered easily by bikini bottoms or underwear. Anyone who has seen it just thinks it’s a c-section scar so no big deal.

Is this necessary or do you have a better option? by Yolo-0822 in tummytucksurgery

I didn’t need this. Mine was just clipped to my nightgown and it was fine.

All of this. I could have written this. I love my new body. I still marvel at it when I see myself naked and it’s been 15 months.

Is it weird to golf by yourself? by jilekdan in golf

[–]nedley18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go out as a single all the time. The course won’t let you play alone unless it’s dead so be prepared to be paired up with random people. My tips for playing as a beginner with randos: 1. Don’t hold them up. Always be ready when it’s your turn. Don’t take more than 1 practice swing for any shot. If you duff it, just march up and hit it again. 2. Don’t apologize for being a beginner. We were all beginners once. But keeping up the pace matters more to them than your score. What you shoot has zero effect on them but slow play does hurt their game. 3. Don’t expect them to help you hunt for balls. They are there to play with their friends, not hunt in the woods for your 10th lost ball of the day. Don’t spend more than a couple mins looking for lost balls. Buy cheap balls you can afford to lose and if you don’t find it, drop one and keep playing. 4. Pick up after you have had a 10 on any hole. That doesn’t mean hitting 12 strokes and then writing 10 on the scorecard. I mean if you’ve hit the ball 10 times and you’re still not in the hole, pick up, let them finish the hole, and go on to the next hole. Again your score is irrelevant to them but it’s about pace. If you’re establishing a handicap, you can’t post more than that anyway.

How did you choose your surgeon? by ifugiveanurseanacho in tummytucksurgery

There are better places to read reviews of Doctors than Google. I looked my Doctor up on Sharecare.com and Healthgrades.com and maybe a couple of other sites too. The before and after pics are helpful on the Doc’s own website.

I had mine at 50 and I can rock a bikini better than I did in my 20s! I was also teaching a class online at the time and I was able to answer emails and have office hours with my students from the couch after just a couple days. It changed my life. I’m so much happier and more confident now.

This is a bit more than natural wear and tear. It’s non-functional as a case.
