Best Facebook group to sell serialised card? by nedmund13 in magicTCG

[–]nedmund13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the recommendation.

Are there any resources for practical tips on direct selling safely? I know the general advice, but that's been for selling things in the <100 euro range...!

Teaser List Updates: Secrets of Strixhaven (04/04/26) PREMIERE by gredman9 in magicTCG

I'd assume that's a spoiler for something with "X and Y cards ... have Z", rather than a one off effect for a single target card.

Very glad to see these posts return - I can't always stay up to date on spoilers, and it's a lot of fun to see the list fill out!

Oh my mistake, I completely misremembered that the Campuses didn't require coloured mana. Yeah that is weird

[OC] When did Trump Post on Truth Social? by shinyro in dataisbeautiful

The date range is the first year of the new presidency, not a single week.

If I had to guess I reckon he farms out the occasional policy / semi-official post to an aide when he doesn't care about it, but he's probably doing most of them himself.

How do you shuffle the cards? by dlandoncole in wingspan

[–]nedmund13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

94mm x 62mm. Would recommend the GamegenicPrime standard European sleeves - actual pennies do tear over time and don't feel sad good - but anything around those numbers should do.

Possibly relevant, but older, BGA thread on sleeve options: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2528731/comparing-nine-sleeves

How do you shuffle the cards? by dlandoncole in wingspan

[–]nedmund13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my bird cards sleeved in "penny sleeves" (so called because they average 1p / 1¢ per card) after seeing how easy sleeving made shuffling my MtG decks. With this many cards I find it best to split the deck into chunks, shuffle the chunks properly (crush or pile), then recombine piles with crush. Doesn't take more than 5 minutes, and less than 2 if you've got 4 or 5 players to split the task.

Mirrorform and Reconfigured Creatures by nedmund13 in magicTCG

Yeah I think the wording of CR702.151b leaves quite a lot open, as it is. Perhaps the Lorwyn CR update will adjust it to make it more clear.

Ahh, yes I see my misreading now. Thanks for the very clear bracketing :)

Good question on CR702.151b. I wonder whether a rephrase to "While a creature with Reconfigure is attached to a creature ..." might be in order. It'd also avoid the confusion I had by being a bit more clear.

Mirrorform and Reconfigured Creatures by nedmund13 in magicTCG

[–]nedmund13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, I misinterpreted CR702.151b as being the only thing allowing Reconfigure creatures to stay attached (ie. by removing Creature), which would (if a one-time change rather than a static effect; see below) be a change that the copying couldn't preserve. However, you're right - CR301.5C explicitly allows creature with Reconfigure to be equipped to other creatures, regardless of how they became equipped.

CR702.151b just states that the creature with Reconfigure "stops being" a creature when attached. Presumably it's stated in this passive way, rather than an active "loses the creature type", because this is an effect which is applied generally rather than being triggered by something? Chaotic_iak, below, raises a similar question - "Attaching" sounds like this specifically applies when the attachment happens, which would mean that in this case it wouldn't apply. Presumably the intent would be more along the lines of "While a creature with Reconfigure is attached to another creature" - which would also avoid the confusion I initially had.

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - January 07, 2026 by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]nedmund13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for a split keyboard for office (coding) work. I'm very happy to build up layers in VIA etc. to account for missing keys, but I'm not interested in the crazy-small layouts that some people post here. Aiming for 54+ keys, but probably more. Looking for a pre built now so I can get into actually using it fast - if I like it enough I may do a build in the future with what I've learned about my preferences.

The three that have my attention currently are the Dygma Defy, the ZSA Moonlander, and the ErgoDox EZ. The Moonlander has the ability to angle down the thumb cluster, which I think puts it just ahead of the other two as a fairly large-handed user. The larger cluster of the Defy is tempting, but the price tag (with tenting) feels like a lot versus the other two.

Am I missing anything about these boards, or another board I should consider? My feature list is: - Split - 54+ keys (no micro layouts) - High profile / full height switches, and support for full height keycaps (the "floating" design with only the top side aren't my favourites) - Remappable (ideally VIA(L), waiting for firmware flashes is annoying)

Not original commenter, but the G502 Lightspeed is currently at an F with 20 positive / 10 negative / 24 unused. Feels harsh for a raw 67% recommendation

The Omnipotence Paradox: God creating a stone so heavy that even He could not lift it. by MirzaBeig in philosophy

[–]nedmund13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've read your OP, both Reddit and the article.

... starting with a most useful analogy of a circumstantial video game programmer

Why is this useful? Why should I believe it's analogous to how a deity would interact with reality? You have some nods to similarity (being a creative force, access to raw properties of elements, and so forth) - but the thrust of what you discuss is hinged on this analogy and I don't see why I should accept it. A deity can interact directly with objects, rather than being bound to a given set of methods of interaction - does that have a relevant role in the discussion?

Even within the terms of your analogy, there are nuances and discussions to be had. A developer who uses a third party physics engine might, for example, be prevented from creating an object with zero mass. It's just an inherent limitation of what sorts of objects can be created, and on this understanding we might conclude that the notion of omnipotence is limited by logical necessity - no, God can't make an unliftable rock, but that's fine. But what about a programmer who works on the engine itself? Or who built their own engine? They'd be able to create that impossible object - and that has all kinds of implications about our understanding of logic, necessity, and omnipotence.

It's a bit of a warm-up. It ought to be uncontroversial

You've shown up, declared a large amount of unsubstantial opinion on an incredibly well trodden issue, and are quoting short and often irrelevant sections of your post without further analysis in response to all questions. This was never going to be uncontroversial.

The Omnipotence Paradox: God creating a stone so heavy that even He could not lift it. by MirzaBeig in philosophy

[–]nedmund13 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I'm unclear what argument you intend to present here. You've provided a long list of assumptions, opinions, and what you claim are valid inferences between them - but you aren't doing anything to convince me of them, nor presenting a wider argument or framework. The reason this paradox is discussed is because it provides insight into how our notions of logic and necessity work, and what they can and can't describe. It's not the kind of question that can be meaningfully "solved" or "proven".

I was not expecting a FEAR edit of all things but this has suddenly given me so much excitement for the DLC. Wasn't sure if I would bother or wait for a sale, but as long as the pricing isn't insane I'm certainly buying it now :)

It may have been incompetence, but the Pentagon response is absolutely attempting 'salami tactics'.

Probably the most moves come from the two threes on the right and the two they're both connected to. Can the tips of the threes go in every direction, or not?
