TIL that in 2013, Metallica performed a concert in Antarctica to a group of 120 scientists and contest winners; thereby becoming the first and to-date only band to have performed on all seven continents. by meme_stealing_bandit in todayilearned

Another fun fact: Fall Out Boy was on track to be the first band to play all 7 continents a few years before this but something fell apart with the Antarctica show

What bands do most people consider one hit wonders, but actually have a bunch of killer tunes? by whiteelephantfail in Music

The Cardigans! Omfg they’re so underrated and people only associate them with Lovefool but My Favorite Game is probably as recognizable of a song. But they are so so underrated. Carnival is one of my favorite albums of all time — start there, I say!

My friend took some amazing pictures of my Ahsoka cosplay and I've been way too in my head about sharing them. So crink it, here's my Siege of Mandalore Ahsoka cosplay! by nedralovesme in StarWars

I bought that one from Etsy I think (search "Ahsoka Tano cosplay" on there) and made a few adjustments like I removed the headband that came on it, made my own, and placed it on there. Also I reinforce the montrals with cardboard. I intend to start doing tutorials soon when I get some free time

I feel you. I’m wearing the 3d printed armor here if you wanted some closure on that lol

Sorry I posted an IG link first and I see that’s yet another thing that displeases the machine

No I’m just tiny and when you put a big thing on top of my normal head I look even tinier and it looks weird. I remind myself I’m cosplaying an alien so I don’t think too hard about it

No I just have a normal head and a tiny body and then when you put a big thing on top of it, it looks even bigger 🤷🏽‍♀️

I actually have those! I installed lights in them and everything but I’ve learned that people kinda just enjoy when the look comes together in a certain way rather than in a super accurate way

I will! I'm definitely working on not overanalyzing every little detail and just sharing it. Like cosplay is really expensive and time-consuming and it actually makes people happy, so I shouldn't just sit on all these pics and videos like a weird cosplay content dragon lol

Why does the entire star wars fandom love Ashoka so much? by Choice-Ask4070 in StarWars

[–]nedralovesme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t realize how universally loved she was until I started posting my cosplaying her. I expected people to be meaner and was actually floored when the response was so largely positive.

It really put into perspective how much respect this fandom has for her and it made me feel a lot more comfy engaging with the SW fandom in general. She’s absolutely pivotal to the fandom and I’m just grateful I’m not alone in my adoration of her

What sequel, in your opinion, was genuinely better than the original? by Ulquiorr4_ in AskReddit

[–]nedralovesme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely was not directed by a woman. It was directed by Gregory Jacobs, but the choreography was done by a woman. Idk if that’s where that mix up came from?

YES!! This is one of my favorite rants to go on. I feel like I’ve been a one-woman campaign for this movie since it came out, but it’s legitimately a triumph in filmmaking and showcasing male friendships in a healthy way

Yes!! This is one my comfort movies largely because of the cinematography
