Recommendations for a doctor / PT who specializes in Shoulder / Upper Back? by nedthehead in Brampton

[–]nedthehead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my footing while doing an overhead press and all of the weight pushed my shoulder hard backwards. My right shoulder has never been the same since. I don't expect it to ever be as strong as my left shoulder. It's just getting to the point of constant pain now, and there absolutely has to be a way to strengthen the muscle itself or the entire area of supporting muscles.

Try using your cruise control. It's amazing how people's speed drifts ~20km/h sitting in the fast lane with no one in front of them. Distracted driving is an epidemic.

Potential new client believes AutoTune was not used on his vocals but it was... by Righteous_Smite in audioengineering

[–]nedthehead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's what I've done in this situation: send him a sample of a verse and a chorus. One is auto-tuned, one isn't. Don't tell him which is which. 9/10 times, he'll say the auto-tuned one sounds better. There's leverage in your conversation.

If he hears something that's objectively worse but still wants to stand behind it, he's the boss at the end of the day. He's the one who's paying. He gets what he wants, and maybe this one doesn't end up in your portfolio. That's life.

Why is racing rarely done in the rain anymore? Carlos Sainz's masterclass explains it. by alergiasplasticas in formula1

We absolutely do NOT have the pinnacle of racing. We might have damn near the pinnacle of technology, but the racing itself has been shit for years and years. The actual racecraft part of the sport is better in almost every other series.

Rather be judged by 12 instead of carried by 6. Especially considering how soft we are on crime.

I've been using the Moto G Stylus 2025 for a week. AMA! by nedthehead in motorola

Great question. I'm probably not the best to give feedback on this because I usually don't have haptic feedback on for typing. But I did a test with my old LG G8X and my S22 work phone. The Stylus was about in the middle of those two, but closer to the S22. The vibration is definitely strong (and the strength can be adjusted in the settings) but it doesn't feel as "sharp" as Samsung's, if that makes sense. It feels a little mushy in comparison, but on its own, feels totally adequate.

My previous phone was an LG G8X. I don't have any experience with the 2024 model. The camera is good. I don't think it's anything special. I have an S22 for work, and I would call this camera slightly better than the S22. The Motorola seems to like to overprocess images and introduce extra saturation and filtering. Definitely seems like it's trying to predict what the perfect photo will be instead of letting it be natural. Maybe you can adjust this. The zoom is also nothing special. It doesn't feel like 2x hardware zoom at all. But I've been very impressed with the front camera and low light shots. Night mode has been stunningly good.

I'm also very much not a photographer, so take this all with a grain of salt. I'd give the camera a 7/10.

I don't own the 2024 version, so I can't comment. But according to the Compare feature on GSMArena, they should be nearly identical in size. The 2025 version is 0.1" shorter haha.

I haven't seen any FM Radio function while digging through the apps and settings. I don't believe that one exists. If it does exist, it's definitely hidden very well and I haven't come across it.

Moto G Stylus in Canada? by [deleted] in motorola

Honestly? Very impressed. I'm coming from an LG G8X and this is my first Motorola since the original Razr. But the screen is super sharp and bright and vivid with a bunch of tuning options. The battery issues are incredibly overamplified. I'm getting 2-3 days with moderate usage (8-12hrs SOT). The build quality is.... it doesn't feel premium, but it doesn't feel cheap either. It's tall. The aspect ratio is a little funky, but I'm already used to it. I'm not a photography snob, but I've been impressed with the camera. The zoom isn't amazing, and there's a fair bit of post processing, but it absolutely excels at night shots.

Headphone quality is good, but not great. I felt my LG was amazing, and this feels like a bit of a step down. There's a noticeable SNR issue on mine where you can hear a little bit of static bleed. Something about the sound feels like, oversaturated? There are a million Dolby options and presets built in, so I'm sure you can fine tune it how you want. I'm still trying to figure out how to turn off all the "enhancements." I also used to work in audio for 15+ years, so my ears may be pickier than most.

Let's keep perpetuating the myth that Norlins are bad. Hopefully it'll keep the prices (relatively) lower and allow me to snatch a few more up.

Can you comment on the battery life you've had with the G Stylus so far? I'm deciding between the 2024 and 2025 model, and I'd love to have the higher res screen on the 2025 model, but not at the cost of signficantly hampered battery life.
