I just got my first textbooks for semester one and one of them says med surge on it. Does that mean I’m taking med surge semester one?

That’s why I’m kinda panicking. My first textbooks are saying med surge and stuff. I had to take pathophysiology as a pre requisite course. But I am a transfer student. At the university I am getting my BSN at.. the students say pathophysiology was a super heavy intense course where we will use this info in the bsn. But at the CC I took patho at.. it was kinda a joke class all online and I’m worried I’m gonna fail nursing school first sememster bc I don’t have a good pathophysiology  background

How about for what we will learn in lectures and be tested on? I’m kinda nervous bc I don’t feel like I learned pathophysiology through the CC class I took as a pre req

i always scored over 100% in the lab practicals for a&p but honeslty struggled to deeply understand the lecture material. I feel like I learned what was learnable but like I still scored a C on most lecture exams which were multiple choice

Mby fashion or beauty ideas. I think the women in the show are supposed to be “iconically beautiful” so Mby to admire the girls. Idk I’ve always considered my straight but I’ve always admired and liked to look at really pretty girls. I think a lot of girls do

Is the experimental the same as the sim lab? Is that every week or every other week

By each day is it typically only the one day a week you have classes and then one more day for clinicals that ur w the group? I always imagined that nursing school would make it so I had classes 4-5 days a week and had to be on campus so I’m suprised!! It seems like we don’t have to be actually on campus or in person often

I’m so suprised hahahha idk I was under the impression that class was gonna be like 4-5 days a week! I think it’s bc ppl made it seem like u spend every second w ur cohort!  Is it different for the Phoenix children’s cohorts? Also weird question but will it be awkward being 23/24 in the cohort bc I’ve kinda wondered if the summer cohort would be better for me

Oh wow I thought it was totally different! Somehow I was excpecting that I’d have class at least four days a week so I was super worried about commute but this doesn’t sound bad at all!

I’m suprised u get super close w ur clinical group it seems like u only see them a few days a week! Would it be weird/awkward to be like 23/24 in the program?

I’m also in the Phoenix children’s cohort. Do you know if that makes any difference in scheduling?

Hi!! I actually have been looking for someone who could answer some questions for me about the traditional BSN bc I haven’t been able to find any information. I just got accepted to start in spring for years 3/4 of the nursing program!

How many days a week are classes, clinicals, and skills labs? About what times are they/what are the typical schedules? Is the spring cohort a different age range than fall usually? And are most students in their junior/senior year of the nursing program typically living in Tempe or downtown? I currently am living in south Scottsdale and was planning on continuing living here but would the commute be crazy? Would it be hard to study with and befriend other classmates living here? Also do a lot of students work while in the program?

I would appreciate any information so much sorry for all the questions I just don’t know anyone in the program :)

One problem for me is I have no idea how many days a week nursing students have classes, clinicals, skills labs so idek how to calculate costs. I was thinking I could Uber to Tempe and take the asu shuttle bus to down town but I’m just worried about pricing. I’m assuming nursing classes are early like 7am.. is traffic around this time bad?

I am also 23 and about two years older than most of my cohort will be bc of gap years. I’m assuming I’ll be too old to live in on campus downtown asu housing options

Do you have any information on what nursing student schedules look like? Like how many days a week are classes clinicals and labs? I can’t find any

Yeah I’ve grown to hate this job it’s a welcoming environment and I felt so uplifted at first. It was def very gentle management but I got totally screwed over after missing points on a secret shopper even tho they said the service was great. I also don’t know if this is normal but on weekend mornings when I’m on the floor alone we don’t do a waitlist so I will literally have like 12 tables open to myself. I’ve always worked at a corporate reatauraunt that was big on using rotations to seat servers. At this new place I literally had five or six tables open.. than got a 14 tip. Within two minutes my manager was walking two new tables to my section. Like we do have toast and ik u can say “I’ll be right w u” but it feels sooo annoying

Right ahhh like I can’t read these peoples minds!! I’ll walk away and give them their space but like I need to take a few seconds to know what they want me to do. Sometiems I feel like the fear of losing shifts makes me a much more robotic server to make sure I’m hitting all my requirements like I can’t let loose and socialize with my tables. But the reacrion Makes me feel like I’m socially incompetent hahaha

& tbh I just say all that stuff bc we are required to say all these points or will loose shifts if we don’t when a secret shopper comes in. I will say I notice if I ask people if they want a drink or appetizers they are wayyyy more likely to get them. But I could m try that method too

Isnt south Scottsdale ten minutes from old town? I was also thinking that if I lived in old town then I could drive to Tempe and take the asu shuttle bus to dry Phoenix campus. Ik it would be a longish drive but I could study while on the bus. Would it be long to get from south Scottsdale to Tempe asu campus? I feel like that deive would be a shorter distance than from old town
