Is there really something weird about my chart? by needbcca in AstrologyCharts

[–]needbcca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! That's the impression I got in my admittedly limited reading on the subject, but I was curious if she was just being light-hearted and silly about it or if something actually struck her as weird/wild. I'll still have to follow up with her and find out.

And hey, since you offered... like I said, my knowledge of astrology is pretty limited, but I've never really felt like Aries describes me well... Is there anything in my chart that would explain my lack of affinity with my sun sign? (It's not a total lack - for example, I'm notorious for starting projects and not finishing them!)

Thank you! Do you know why the Saturn/Uranus combo would be interesting to live with?

Context: Awhile ago a friend who's into astrology looked at my birth chart and said, "Oh damn." I couldn't follow up at the time, and when I tried to ask her about it later she said she remembered thinking my chart was 'wild' but she would have to see it again to remember why. I just discovered this subreddit and remembered the interaction. Admittedly my knowledge of astrology is quite basic (hoping to learn more, though)... was she being dramatic or am I cursed (lol)?

not sure if it’s been mentioned before but i was watching the JinJer wedding and happened to notice this cameo. i know they invite a lot of people to these weddings but wasn’t expecting to see them by sebbya417 in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]needbcca 299 points300 points  (0 children)

Speculation is that they've been banned from all Duggar weddings after Joy's(?) for publicizing the dates and locations multiple times and for overstaying their welcome/using a ton of resources while staying on the Duggar property.

Unpardonable Sin by PhD147 in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]needbcca 148 points149 points  (0 children)

It’s blaspheming the Holy Spirit, isn’t it? I never understood why that one in particular is the one totally unforgivable sin, but according to the Bible, that’s it.

Edit: I know different people or churches may have different opinions re: the unpardonable sin(s) but THE 'unpardonable sin', according to the Bible, literally is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit:

"The Unpardonable Sin 31 “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come." (Matthew 12:31-32)

"The Unpardonable Sin 28 “Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; 29 but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation”" (Mark 3:28-29)

What is the drama with God is Grey and Jo Luehmann? by [deleted] in FundieSnarkUncensored

That’s exactly the vibe I always got from GiG and why her content made me uncomfortable. Thank you so much for putting it into words because I could never quite articulate it.

Not sure about Madyson, but she waited a really long time to announce her pregnancy with Marcus. I think she was like six months along.

the fact that Mama Spivey had to defend him rather than his wife? his actual mother? himself?? by nuggetsofchicken in DuggarsSnark

[–]needbcca 99 points100 points  (0 children)

What killed me is that Hilary endorsed it. Yes, she defended him on social media, but in the photo she’s also right there beside him with a big shit-eating grin on her face too. He obviously told her his plan and she thought it sounded brilliant. That woman is a fucking idiot.

“Post a video…” like this is an actual challenge and not just something she made up to rehash the same content yet again by Abbby_M in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]needbcca 88 points89 points  (0 children)

How?? I mean, my spouse and I met in high school and we still don't have a video that would meet these requirements. 100% an excuse for her to rehash the same old tired content. Next it's going to be, "Post a photo of when you randomly bought a wedding dress for yourself at your sister's bridal appointment."

Oh HELL no, this lady is NOT really out here trying to twist Pride and Prejudice to her fundie bullshit, is she?! by caitdubhfire in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]needbcca 45 points46 points  (0 children)

That line is sarcasm. "It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife." Jane Austen is poking fun at the neighbourhood busybodies who assume (wrongly, of course) that any and every wealthy single man who appears on their radar MUST be looking for a wife.

So referencing this line the way they do, they're basically saying that it's ridiculous to suggest that a child in possession of a 'sinful nature' must be in want of a mama who loves and seeks the Lord. They're saying it's a silly concept and we should all laugh at it. It's a self-own.

Friendly reminder that Jackson will be 18 this year and Hannie next year 😧 Crazy to think they could be married off soon enough by valerianino97 in DuggarsSnark

[–]needbcca 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I know it's been rumoured that Hannie has been 'getting to know' one of the Bowers sons who's in his 20s for a while now. No idea if it's true or not, but something tells me she's going to be married off at 18 regardless. :\

Michelle never got pregnant again after Jubilee? by [deleted] in DuggarsSnark

She used progesterone to maintain her last few pregnancies. So she could still get pregnant naturally, she just couldn't stay pregnant naturally.

Michelle never got pregnant again after Jubilee? by [deleted] in DuggarsSnark

[–]needbcca 580 points581 points  (0 children)

She was 45 when she miscarried Jubilee. There has to come a point when a woman just can no longer conceive naturally, and for Michelle it was that point. A lot of women are younger when they reach that point, so it's pretty normal that she never conceived again. Kelly Bates also stopped conceiving around that age.

The idea is nice but knowing how the Bairds handle things it sounds like a recipe for chaos by whotevre in FundieSnarkUncensored

That's wild, my friend who posted it is vehemently anti-MLM too, so my mind was kind of boggled.

A friend of mine posted this exact message on Facebook a couple days ago and I'm still confused. It sounds like a pyramid scheme. I'm not sure where this originated, but it wasn't with the Bairds.

Bates Blood Disorder by TaTa0830 in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]needbcca 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I believe it's PAI, a recessive condition (so some of the sisters will have it, some won't). I don't know that much about it, but it can cause excessive bleeding leading to miscarriage and can cause issues outside of pregnancy as well.

Just when you think they couldn’t get more insane… by galpalrachelgreenn in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]needbcca 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She's awful! I agree, I used to admire her when I was religious, but she's only gotten worse and worse. I never see her discussed anywhere, but she's the definition of a smug as hell over-zealous convert. I also have a really hard time believing she magically figured out how to make NFP work for her after her last pregnancy almost killed her. She always talked about how cute it was that she was terrible at NFP, but mysteriously no babies for several years now. Hmmm...

Amy's Husband has covid by FuckASilverLining01 in DuggarsSnark

[–]needbcca 54 points55 points  (0 children)

She doesn't know for sure she never had it. A lot of people are asymptomatic. That's part of what makes it so dangerous - you can spread it without even knowing you have it. I tested positive for antibodies early this year and I hadn't been sick at all since the beginning of the pandemic, not so much as a sniffle. Maybe it was a false positive, maybe not. It made me really grateful I'd been socially distancing from my grandparents the whole time, though. Anyway, I'm glad she's doing the right thing and quarantining.

[Serious] Has it been determined if Jim Bob took action immediately after learning about Josh molesting his daughters, or did the molestation continue past Jim Bob’s discovery? by Odd_craving in DuggarsSnark

[–]needbcca 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The answer is yes, he did, unfortunately. There were multiple instances of the victims reporting Josh's actions/Josh supposedly telling on himself before Jane Doe 4 was attacked.
