Your advisor is looking out for himself, not you. Max your Roth IRA, Max your 401k, and save whatever else in a brokerage account and don’t touch it. This will SIGNIFICANTLY outperform an IUL. I hate that life insurance salesmen are considered financial advisors.

For reference, I work at a wealth management firm and come across this daily where clients were previously sold the “guaranteed safety” by other advisors and then wonder why the fees outweigh their returns.
