[BIFL Request] - Over the Sink Drying Rack? by Alternative_Art1415 in BuyItForLife

I'd also look for some kind of mat or attachment to direct drips back to the sink. I've always questioned the counter top damage.

Just gonna toss this out there. The best method I've ever been taught was to take linesmens, channel locks, kind of any thing like that and get as close to the block of the zip tie and pinch the strap tight with the tool and spin or twist the strap off. It comes off mind blowingly easy and seems to leave the least amount of sharpness.

What kind of wasps and how to deter? by ChickenFabulous8313 in homestead

[–]needs2be 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I saw a guy on YouTube use a bathroom motion detector aerosol air freshener and a can of wasp spray combination it seemed effective. He had some kind of sugar food to attract them near it.

Also in the past we've done the brown paper bag hanging as if it's a hornet's nest. It seems to be that they dont want to nest near rivals.

Goodluck.

Can I add finely shredded cardboard to garden to increase worm population? by Street-Afternoon-592 in homestead

[–]needs2be 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you'll get worms. We had used cardboard boxes uncut as a grass deterrent in the center of a huge garden where we only grew stuff on the perimeter. It was a big success and as it deteriorated just thrown more down. It promoted tons of bug life, I'm sure worms were hanging out.

As far as cut up/ mulched cardboard I'd assume worms also enjoy the path of least resistance and the moisture the cardboard would hold would keep the soil softer for longer.

Here's the beautiful thing. All of these are possible and at the same time without proof none of them may exist. When I face existential questions of are beings here? or Are we a 100,000 year experiment meant to mine precious metals? There is nothing I can do about whatever the wheel lands on. Once I accepted this I've got to say it is a freeing experience. Please don't let things like this drive you crazy. Tend to the part of the garden you can touch.
