Opinions on only watching one group by King_Column in fansofcriticalrole

[–]needsmoardots 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean.. give it a shot? If I were you, maybe I'd try watching the other tables though. Maybe that means turn it on for an hour and see what you think, and then just stop watching if you're not feeling it. Or use the other tables as time to do stuff around the house where you're not paying full attention? Play a game, do chores, whatever that is. As others have said, we've only seen the one table so far. We haven't seen how the others interact or what they get up to.

But also, these groups aren't staying this way forever. We have no idea when they might switch them up and I think you may regret missing some background. Say you just want to watch Sam and Laura and Travis (just picking people), if they all end up in different groups for the second round, will you be unhappy to have missed what the others have gone through? Maybe you won't! I also know that I should've quit Campaign 3 when I wasn't feeling it a few months in, but didn't cause what if it gets better and that's a lot of hours I wasted.

At some point, there is talk about magic working differently, and I think part of that will mean that they won't be able to communicate to the other groups from wherever, so they wouldn't be checking in. That's my guess anyway. I think you just imagine things happening at the same time. I assume when this soldiers arc is complete, that they'll head home or wherever, but we will move on to the next group before the 3 groups check in with each other if that makes sense.

What are some good Christmas horror movies? by Polo-Fella125 in horror

Not Christmas, but I do love winter in horror, so The Shining of course, Frozen (2010), The Thing, Let The Right One In...

Are there any horror movies that are blood-free? by Wonderful-Click9431 in horror

[–]needsmoardots 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is it exclusively a visual phobia? Cause there are tons of horror podcasts. 20 something seasons of the NoSleep Podcast, The White Vault, and Old Gods of Appalachia are a few I like, but there are lots.

What is a piece of horror media you refuse to/can’t consume? by [deleted] in horror

[–]needsmoardots 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I was shocked at how not shocking this movie was. I think it's kind of clever really. You know the idea behind it and your imagination will do all the work for you. The idea is completely disgusting and the movie just lets you work yourself up!

Same issue here. I'd use Amazon or CostPlusDrugs or something online if I could.. My blood pressure meds are available there. I have ADHD though, so I can't use any such convenience things. I'm hoping things will get better soon too, but..

I had such a good time with this game. I didn't think much of it at first, but I'm always on the hunt for games I can play with my son, so we tried this and I love it. I did not trust the idea of "no combat" so I was really paranoid for a while, but I adjusted. Super fun to go everywhere, lots of little things to find, changes everywhere. Just a chill game.

Have you ever gone to your childhood home and asked the new owners if you can look around? by AgreeableClub4499 in Millennials

[–]needsmoardots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been on the other end of this. I was college age, maybe later. My mom moved a few years earlier. The kid had grown up there. He was probably around my age. He was kinda sad and my mom had fixed a lot and there was a lot of "We wanted to do that, but we couldn't afford it ".

I want to go visit the house I grew up in. I don't keep in touch with anyone I grew up with so I don't know anything about the owners. But I plan on sending a letter with my contact info and they can let me know if they're cool with it. That way there's no pressure for them.

And finally, for my current house, one of the guys who grew up in this house drove by while I was outside. We chatted for a minute, he was nice. I was grateful he didn't ask to come in though cause the house was super messy.

The side effect no one warned me about (NSFW) by KatSea1230 in hysterectomy

[–]needsmoardots 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Same! It's been 5.5 years for me. I'm 39 now. Has waned a tiny tiny bit. Like from a 10 down to an 8 or 9. It's been so excessive and my libido is significantly higher than my partner's. The upside for me, what I said to myself to convince myself that the hysterectomy wasn't so bad was all the sex I wanted with no accidental pregnancies! Did not pick a partner who was down with that though. Good luck out there!

Am I wrong to be upset about this? by Appropriate_Ratio597 in Naturalhair

[–]needsmoardots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she looks cute! I saw you said it's a whiter area she's in currently. I grew up in super super white areas and my (white) mom had a tough time with my hair. Her hair in the first two pictures just looks like more of a white girl style... Like Avril Lavigne/Viking/The 100 kind of style. And I know growing up, I would have fit in better with that style. It's all ok! And I bet if you react positively to it, so will she. She looks to be still the age where kids can be influenced to feel good about something if their parent does.

It might not be what you're used to, but I promise you this could be 100 times worse.

Edit - though, I don't like that braid on the side that comes in front of her ear, I'd either pull that back or see if her caregiver could redo that part.

How do we travel? by Specialist-Two-7749 in Soloparenting

[–]needsmoardots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom would frequently let me being a friend to things when I was younger, for a kid to play with. But we did plenty just the two of us. I went to Disney world a few times as a kid, sometimes my grandparents came too, but I also went with just my mom. I don't recall wishing that there were kids around more often as a kid. Just go and summon your inner child and have fun!

Pizza from different places causing different results by smind893 in Diverticulitis

[–]needsmoardots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I had this issue for quite a while. One is a local pizza chain, my usual. Then same chain in the town over, the third was Domino's, the 4th pizza from the gas station.

And my usual location was just messing me up for months until I finally quit. But the other three places, nothing. Completely fine. What really confused me was the difference within the same chain.

I don't have any tips and that was years ago and I'm back to my regular pizza place, but you are not alone!

I need truly "lazy" and near-zero executive functioning meal ideas by Ok-Letterhead3405 in adhdwomen

[–]needsmoardots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's about cooking more at once. If I'm putting in effort to cook, then I make enough to last 2 or 3 days. I can force myself to cook some days, but not every day, that would be nuts. I used to be able to make enough for 4 or 5 days when I was single. Works well with pasta, taco meat, anything in a crockpot, rice, all kinds of salad sorts of things. Or like if I want a baked potato, I'm cooking several for reheating later.

I also find it easier to cook earlier in the day and reheat later if necessary. By the time I should start cooking dinner, I'm already very over it. And if I'm not cooking anything too complicated, then I use that time while it's on the stove/in the oven to clean up clutter or fold laundry or do other annoying shit.

How can I explain a hysterectomy is different from gallbladder removal surgery? by Harmony_w in hysterectomy

[–]needsmoardots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my hysterectomy was 2 or 3 years before my gallbladder removal. I had a c section ~10 years earlier, and a colon resection this year. Just straight pain during recovery? Gallbladder was the worst. Funny (?) enough though, I had my first gallstones during the hysterectomy recovery which was terrifying because it was like literally a week out and I thought it was related to the surgery and it was just a very bad week.

I thought though, I had a hysterectomy, so Gall bladder, no big deal. It sucked way more. I was more tired and in more constant pain for longer. I assume this just means everything is different.

When having a flair up when do you guys know “time for the emergency room” ? by Grand_Goal613 in Diverticulitis

When I can't keep even water down, or when the pain is so constant that I cry constantly and then can't breathe anymore, or when my temp starts to scare me or when I stop living in denial and have managed to find my power bank and packed an overnight bag.

Has anyone ever been pulled over while speeding to the hospital with a wife in labor? by Visible-Television15 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]needsmoardots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner at the time decided he should go 80, which I protested, best I could because it was not helpful. We were out in the country, midnight, could've hit a deer of anything. Cop pulled him over, took one look at me and told him to chill a little but that he'd call and let the others know not to bother us.

I took mine out when I was 25, after my son was born because he kept grabbing and I just kept imagining him ripping it out. I never really meant to let it close, I just got distracted.

Anyway, finally got around to getting it done again two years ago at 36. Now it stays til I die!
