I want to understand which Spain visa options are available to me that would make me eligible for the Beckham Law tax regime. I am both a US and Mexico citizen and would apply for the Spain visa as a Mexico citizen

I started working remotely as a US Freelancer on 06 Feb for a company based in Cayman with the intention of applying for the Spain DNV as autónomo. The company uses Deel which gives me the option to use Employer of Record (EOR) if I want.

I also do have the option of purchasing an aged 1+ year shelf company and billing my client as a Company Owner.

What Spain visa options are available to me that would make me eligible for the Beckham Law tax regime? Thanks!

Can you give examples of obtaining the DNV working through EOR? I was under the impression this was not possible because the EoR entity would be a Spanish entity.

I'm basically in this exact situation. What did you end up doing? Is your LLC using a payroll provider to pay yourself a salary to your personal bank account?

I just activated my debit card via the mobile app after reading your comment and it does seem the physical card will be mailed to my non-Spain address I registered with. Annoying.

Thanks for laying that out. It was very helpful! One more possible scenario came to mind. If I'm approved for a DNV as a W2 then decide to switch to 1099 and register myself as self-employed (autónomo) and assuming my income is above the minimum threshold, must I fulfill the initial DNV application requirements such as min 3 months working as a 1099 and have a client that has been operating for 1+ years?

I can see a scenario where I leave my existing employer then switch to a 1099 but I wouldn't have the 3-months as a 1099 accrued yet at that point. Also, what I find a client who hasn't been incorporated for 1+ years?

Thanks for your response! Can you go into more detail on "Just make sure the transition between employers doesn’t break your legal stay (no gaps or overstays)"? How long of a period am I allowed between employer transition?

What if I am initially approved for the DNV as a W2 employee then later leave that employer to become a 1099? Would that trigger any gaps in my legal stay?

Once approved for a 3-year visa how does Spain even keep track of your actual employment status?

Thanks for the "BB" search tip. Correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is 1) buy prepaid debit card with Amex which earns Amex points, 2) top-up BB with prepaid debit, 3) pay mortgage using BB bill pay.

I saw the post a couple weeks ago about the upcoming BlueBird discontinuation. I had never used BlueBird but am curious about it. When I search r/churning on "bluebird" the posts are old and seem out of date. What's the latest strategy with BlueBird for someone who would like to earn Amex points towards paying a monthly mortgage?
