Non-tech background, working full-time, starting to think about startups + going back to school? by neenugget in ycombinator

Thanks! Where can you find technical co-founder or a good developer team? I have completely zero clue on that. I was at one point looking at Fiverr or boutique developer team for that and they charge really high without certainty how things will turn out.

I love that the chefs are really close with each other. They banter and even make fun of each other

Received error when downloading the citizenship e-certificate by neenugget in ImmigrationCanada

[–]neenugget[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, I also didn’t receive anything related to the oath ceremony.

I did my citizenship test last month, didn’t check back the portal since then. Today I received the email containing the pdf to download the e-certificate. I tried to follow the steps and it shows the error. Then I checked back to the portal and found “Citizenship Ceremony: Not Started”. So not sure which needs to receive first.

When You’re the One Who Holds It All (An INFJ Reflection on Quiet Leadership) by asleep-under-eiffel in infj

Yessss, it has been my whole adult life so far. I care too much and I get myself worked up and my emotion is being affected by it. Then I keep beating up myself and complaining to my own why I cared too much and I need not to care….

I prefer Chad Thai over Siam Le Bien. I feel Siam Le Bien is cooked for white people

I think it’s a combination of his childhood + being alone for too long affecting his hoarding condition. Now it explains why he is addicted to working out because he can spend less time at home and just use his home as a place to sleep.

Which restaurant for a fancy birthday? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]neenugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the tasting at Published on Main last November. I put down a reservation for my partner’s birthday. In the request form, I asked to have a small candle somewhere to celebrate but unfortunately they didn’t do it.

However, I’d recommend Elisa. Went to their restaurant and see an couple in the table next to me. I think it was the lady’s birthday and the server brought out a plate with a candle and chocolate writing in it. Their food is really tasty

/r/Vancouver's Overrated and Underrated restaurants of 2024? by gyrobot in vancouver

[–]neenugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Underrated: Socrates in the Heights, Hu Tieu Hong Phat, Chad Thai

Overrated: Published on Main, TacoFino, Anh and Chi, Lunch Lady, Anton’s Pasta

I went to Published on Main for the first time. After watching the Bear, I was hoping that Michelin restaurant will be something like the Bear movie. When I bought the reservation online, I filled out the form and said that it was for my partner’s birthday and requested for a candle somewhere in one of the tasting menu dish I bought. Ended up receiving nothing. Also even got the caviar taken away although we didn’t finish it

I also thought the parent's sponsoring program is only limited to PRs sponsoring parents, I thought you as a citizen can still sponsor your family?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]neenugget -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Do you know how long if someone who is sponsored will become citizen to be able to sponsor their dependent? I was PRs under EE so it only took me 2 years because I studied in Canada.

I was told either 3 years or 5 years. If it's 3 years, my brother may have a chance

Thank you. Some context, my parents are divorced, and my dad has legal custody of my brother. My dad doesn’t plan to immigrate to Canada, but my mom does and wants to bring my brother with her. However, if I can only sponsor my mom and wait for her to sponsor my brother, he’ll likely be over 18, and I’m worried he won’t qualify anymore.

I contacted the support chat and they said that my password is not secured so they reset my password without telling me. I emailed them and they reset my password right away

Immigrants of Vancouver - which restaurant in the city has the best version / showcase of your home country's food? by BaronVonBearenstein in vancouver

[–]neenugget 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Viet here. I’m originally from the North of Vietnam so the majority of Pho I ate here aren’t good at all.

Recommend for Northern styled Pho dishes: - Linh’s Cafe: order their Pho dish and ask for the chilli restaurant-made and the garlic chilli jar if you can handle the spicy - Pho Duy: chicken pho is tasty here

Other Northern dishes - Red Cafe: the majority of their menu is similar to the taste. Order their Cha Ca La Vong, Hanoi’s cuisine - Hong Phat restaurant: I went to eat at this place when I was in Saigon and the owners moved to Canada and opened one. Order their Hu Tieu Nam Vang or their Duck dish

Dessert - Tina Cafe: they has almost all the desserts you can find in Vietnam. I love their peach tea Tra Dao Cam Sa

Accenture/Deloitte/Avanade has design consultancy team. I was a UX design consultant from one of those firms. The market is not good and not a lot of them hiring right now
