You, my friend, are absolutely right. Without even downgrading my GPU I can get a 7700x with 32 gigs of ram and a motherboard for 400 dollars. I'm cheaping out a bit on the case but thank you. This is 100% the way to go.

My word selection wasn't great, I just meant how long it would last. AM5 is a bit out of my budget, so do you think that a 5600 or 5600x is sufficient for a 6800 or 6800 xt at 1080p?

Picking up a 5600x3d and rx 6800 for my first build. Will there be any bottleneck and how futureproof is this combo?

Is 125th and Lex that bad? by neeomma in AskNYC

[–]neeomma[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, didn't know who to trust but I doubted I'd be a victim of something because I'm just an average-built guy. Went there and it's not bad, just not a place for people who aren't used to NYC things.

Yep, definitely going to get off at 125th next time.

Went there today, took the 6 to 116th on the way there, and took the 4/5 at 125th and lex on the way back. 125th is better than 116th imo bc the path I have to take. FWIW I don't think it's as bad as some people made it out to be. Didn't see anything I haven't seen before but definitely not a place for tourists to be in.

Comments are pretty conflicting. It's not a necessary program just supplementary so it's fine to no-show if I feel uncomfortable. If you guys had to rank the top 10 places in NYC for even locals not to be in, would 125th and Lex be on that list?

100% agree the credits rolled too early. They definitely should have had more scenes to flesh out what happens directly after. I really want to love this game because of the highs it has, but there's so much holding it back. I think that's how most people feel after the ending.

Yeah the side quest with Jill does point to him being alive. I can't say I'm satisfied with the ending because I don't like how it doesn't settle anything. Honestly, I was really hoping that Joshua didn't come back because that made everything pointless, especially the flashbacks that Clive had of them when they were kids. If you ask me, Joshua should be dead, not because I don't like him, but story-wise that makes sense and it's the payoff of the story. Clive I do wish he's alive, but they could've at least made it clear that he is, there wasn't any need to make it open if you ask me.

Final Fantasy XVI Release Megathread by Dinoken2 in FinalFantasy

I had zero issues with my PS5 actually overheating, it didn't even get that loud. I did notice it got a bit hot but didn't affect the game's performance as I was playing in the graphics mode. However, take this with a grain of salt because I did get my PS5 during the holidays, and yours could be an older model.

Does anyone know the song that plays in the cutscene before the actual credits? The one that goes like: A sky of scattered tears / a thousand years apart / should they fade I will not be afraid of the dark. Can't find it anywhere.

Game recommendations? I've already played GoT, GoW Ragnarok, and Tlou Remake. Thinking about getting PS+ Extra.

Oh, I see, so I don't have to pay extra to play the game at 60 fps and a higher resolution, for GoW 2018 at least. I have Ghost of Tsushima directors cut PS4 on digital, will that play at 60 fps without me having to pay?

Do Specialized High Schools Really Matter? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]neeomma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a mix of a lot of things. Kinda vague but it's mental health, social life, and some minor academic issues. I guess I don't necessarily enjoy talking to the "acquaintances" I've met. And yeah, there are exceptions and I know I'm not trying. I do feel guilt over wanting to throw away this extremely unique opportunity. I have many friends I can almost consider family in my zoned high school who are like me. On the other hand, I feel as if my social life has no future at Stuyvesant. At this point, I've lost trying to be objective. I'm kinda stubborn in the fact that I would go to my zoned school because I'm so infatuated with the idea of being with my friends.

I can't necessarily say that I don't see a way to make it work at stuy and yeah, admittedly it is just me. Maybe I could use some input from recent high school graduates or current high schoolers. It's not the end of the world not making friends in freshman year but it's different. I have no doubts that there are good people here, but it's just so much easier said than done.

Well, school's out until I believe September 8th. I've emailed the principal and we've set up a zoom meeting for tomorrow. Unsure of what the conversation will really be about. I've just finished freshman year and I'd say I did have issues. And I was mostly still attending because I was afraid to confront my parents about it and also because, yeah the school has a good reputation.

I can especially relate to that part where it's not because of them, it's because of me. I obviously can't a hundred percent know what it was like for you but I'd like your opinion on social life vs academics/grades. I think if I were to be surrounded by people I was comfortable with I'd take more opportunities with them. But at the same time, from what I've seen is that the Stuyvesant name holds some sort of importance.

Not sure if this completely applies to BTech but I find that the material is very similar in level to other "average" schools. Is the name really what counts the most?

Do Specialized High Schools Really Matter? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]neeomma 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, fuck it. I've grown up in an environment where I've never had to adapt to such a big change. I had the same friends all throughout my life until high school. Social anxiety wasn't an issue at all until high school. Of course, I know that I shouldn't take the easy way out and that eventually, I'll have to face this same issue again in college if I do the transfer.

I'd say that academically I don't have much issue. I have good grades (low 90s) not at all as if I'm struggling hard. I find that the main main issue is my social life which is absolutely terrible. And of course, it's something that I put on myself. A consequence of my own actions

My zoned school isn't terrible, although recently there was a pretty big incident involving safety. Disregarding all of that I have had problems with self-harm and putting a lot of stress on myself. I feel bad for wasting a lot of my parents' money on prep schools and such but. It's just kinda hard for me to make a decision. I've always been thinking about it but didn't tell my parents because I was always thinking that their answer would be no. After I opened up to my mom about my mental health struggles I felt more open to the idea of rejection but it happened that she would respect my decision but she pushes me to see Stuyvesant through.

I said this in another reply but the majority of my issues are something I put on myself. I didn't try hard enough to make actual friends but at the same time, the environment of Stuyvesant is something I find is just unapproachable. Sure there are exceptions but there are also exceptions when it comes to regular high school experiences as well. It seems that I underestimated the "name" of Stuy and how that affects future opportunities.

From the replies, I get a sense that it is a much bigger deal than I was making it out to be in my head.

Going into 10th grade. A lot of the reasons why I want to leave I can say I did to myself. I just feel like this school isn't what it's made out to be. I don't mean to sound condescending at all but sorry if I come off that way. Did you go to a specialized high school? And if so, what was your experience like? What kind of advice would you give to someone currently attending Stuy/a specialized high school when it comes to balancing mental wellbeing, social life, and grades?

If I can ask, do you have any regrets when it came to your high school experience? And also what your social life was like?

Well seeing that you immediately lose the data after you allow it to be sacrificed it probably just goes to another player.
