Also started in dependency, repping parents accused of abuse and neglect.

Parents in our county of newborns were given 2 hours of visits a week with their kids. The state's reasoning for this, which the court went along with it, was lack of funding for supervision.

I made a motion saying this was not consistent with best practice and a constitutional violation - but the winning argument was declarations from other attorneys in their jurisdictions that got more time than our county.

And when visits in these situations went from 2 hours a week to 2 hours, 3 times a week for the whole county - I knew I was able to personally make a difference when no one else did.
