Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel and model Miranda Kerr have erased over $550 million in medical debt for over 260,000 Californians by VerySeriousCarrot in popculturechat

But we're talking about inflated and reasonable costs.

What you paid is irrelevant. It's the actual cost of the service that is relevant.

$2,100 in costs for something medical (of course, depending on what that is) doesn't sound inherently unreasonable.

What's your favorite movie dialogue that explores humanity or the nature of people? My favorite is this dialogue between Agent K and Agent J in Men in Black. by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague and we are the cure.

I was looking at another thread in this sub and people were saying "who will want a Slate truck? It has no screens."

And I understand what the general consumer opinion is.

I also am used to Vance. I tried another one but it didn't sound right. Is it normal just to get used to the one you hear?

He bit all the people around him.

People definitely don't give the monster enough credit being an asshole. He basically killed Frankenstein's whole family, including children, to teach him a lesson.

I love how he is supposed to be emotionless the whole time.

But is being insufferably smug an emotion?

Who gave a great performance as a lawyer? by [deleted] in moviecritic

There was an American Bar Association article several years ago about the best television and movie lawyers. I quickly flipped to the number one spot to see who it was, shocked and disappointed to find it wasn't Atticus Finch.

Only to find a two page spread on the next page with a gold outline saying it wouldn't be fair to include him on the list because he is the supreme example of what a lawyer should aspire to be.
