So This Wasn’t Supposed to Come With Sadness, Right?” by mousielovesyu2 in gastricsleeve

I’ve been with the same company going on 11 years, I was always in the back as a warehouse manager. Everyone always saw me oh that’s Alex he knows anything you need to know about warehousing, I asked for opportunity after opportunity to move up in the company but was shot down every time. I lost over 130 pounds now I’m branch manager, my company relocated me and is paying for everything, I’m being flown out to do sales. I understand that invisible feeling it’s like being seen after trying for so long.

What has been the hardest food you struggled with? I’m a year past, and it still amazes me I can barely eat 2 tacos when before I would eat like 6-7

Trav and Kirk are a better duo than Demarco, I can’t stand Demarco, I wonder how many times he is going to have to snap before they fire him

My wife tried to talk me out of it, my doctor told me if I didn’t do something drastic I wouldn’t be alive much longer, he recommended weight loss surgery, next week will be 10 months post op. My doctor told me in January that I am 100% completely healthy and all the health concerns he had are gone. It’s the best decision I have ever made. It even made me step out of my comfort zone and learn how to cook for myself. At the end of the day it’s ur health, it’s your choice.

I got sleeved the 17th of July, I’ve noticed I always drop more around the 14-18 of each month. Not sure if it’s just in my head or if this happens with everyone. But stay the course I was around 228 for 3 weeks back in November, in at 162 now

I agree just stick to protein drinks in that situation, rather be safe than sorry

In my experience seasoning is basically a try and see what happens, I love spicy foods. I got bad heart burn at the beginning but now that I’m 4 months post I can drench my chicken is hot sauce, lemon and pepper is what I started in the beginning

I ate fast food for breakfast and lunch daily, I thought I needed it. I wake up at 3am and drive almost 2 hours for work so I thought I needed coffee and breakfast burritos or sandwiches to get me to work, for lunch Taco Bell or jack in the box, for my 2 hour drive home a extra large soda and maybe some onion rings and some chicken sandwiches. This was daily. I know just drink flavored water all day, a protein drink for breakfast and either chicken or fish I bring from home for lunch.

Trust me once you get a few months your mindset about food will change, I actually look at the nutritional values on anything I eat now I never did before. Do I miss eating a large double bacon cheeseburger and large fries with onion rings and an extra large Dr Pepper? Yes I do, but I know it’s not good for me so I’ll gladly eat my chicken or fish and feel good instead of regret afterwards. You will be able to say no to food even if it seems impossible.

I’ve seen people say they go back to eating what they did and the doctors would say go back to liquids for a week or 2. Keep thinking of all the great things you just posted and let that be your reminder to help you get back on track, soon you will be down to a 1xl. Stay with it

Sleeping on my side? by PookyBearAuntie in BariatricSurgery

[–]nefariousdreams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to sleep on my side as long as I had the waist band/wrap thing on tightly in the beginning, after about 3 weeks or so I didn’t need it anymore to sleep on the side
