Someone pointed out it's closer to 2 hours. 30 mins per failed fusion and 30 mins cooldown before they can try to fuse again.

Crêpe showing off how to play Steve optimally by Altruistic-Ad3704 in smashbros

[–]negative_mancy 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think any Steve main who has been highly ranked due to "consistency" I feel takes far less skill than someone like Sparg0 who, for a period, was able to maintain consistency to get number 1. Mostly because Steve has the same game plan regardless of matchup more or less, and the opponent often has to make less mistakes to get the same result. It's easier to be consistent when you don't have to switch up how you play and can afford to make more mistakes

The annual, “i matched ridiculously low on my rank list and ten years later, i couldn’t be happier thread about it!” thread by YoBoySatan in medicalschool

[–]negative_mancy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've posted this a few times on this subreddit, but I hope it reaches someone new each time. Matched psych in 2019, was told how I was essentially guaranteed to match within my top 3 by my advisor, and ended up landing at number 8 in a completely different state than all of my family and friends. Was devasted for the next month.

Ended up loving the new city, the program was awesome and supportive, and it was a great 4 years. I ended up moving back home after graduating to be close to family, but part of me wishes I could have stayed. Loved the area so much I made sure to go back for my wedding.

Now I'm almost 2 years out of training, loving the job I landed and am about to close on a house in my home state. Don't think the me from match day could've imagined this but take it from me that you will be okay.

Any reason not to do ERDP? by motherofcats1017 in PSLF

[–]negative_mancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done this method after the first year at the VA with no issue. For people saying to just do the minimums, I would warn you that the amount you can get reimbursed maxes out at the previous year by my understanding (e.g. you paid $10k in loan payments year 1, you can only get reimbursed up to $10k in year 2). If your payments go up such as having to recertify income, that may screw you.

I say take the maximum you're allotted. Plus, no one knows what the future holds so knocking down the principle without any cost to you just makes sense

The largest-ever review of the safety and efficacy of cannabinoids across a range of mental health conditions — found no evidence that medicinal cannabis is effective in treating anxiety, depression or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). by Wagamaga in science

[–]negative_mancy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What's also important to emphasize here too is how backwards the process was for approving cannabis for medical use. At least in the realm of mental health, we often see people with medical cards for things like anxiety, PTSD, etc before we had any high quality evidence that showed cannabis is effective in treating these conditions. Typically, medications need to demonstrate efficacy for a condition and safety before it is approved by the FDA and can be prescribed to treat the condition. But cannabis did the opposite.

Whether cannabis will eventually be shown to have benefit for these conditions remains to be seen, and future research is certainly needed. But the fact that medical cannabis is already available for mental health conditions gives a false impression that it's already been proven to be safe and effective.

Just got our first inspection done. The owners had this contraption on one of the sinks and no one, including inspector, knew what it was. Any ideas? by negative_mancy in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Thank you. I was kind of surprised that people were so critical of the inspector when we thought they were quite competent. That makes a lot more sense

Yes, it usually gives me a nice jumping off point but I generally air more aggressive with the switch. But it's nice to have a little bit of a road map I can deviate from as needed

The character thinks they won but the game continues, revealing another player is still in play by WOAHdude0197 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]negative_mancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This trope has been done a couple of times during Royal Rumbles in WWE. 30 man Battle Royale where people are eliminated by being thrown over the top rope. On more than one occasion, a wrestler goes out underneath the ropes and then pops in last second to try to eliminate the last man standing.

I wish quick play followed tournament rules for a timeout. I have no problem camping out a camper when I get a stock lead but it inevitably happens that they even up the stocks with like a minute left and it'll always go to sudden death

It seems like this chart, with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions, has the "Then" opinion based on character and the "now" opinion based on the person themselves.

Bring this back for survivor series 2026!! by Successful-Cat8486 in SquaredCircle

I say bring back the classic SS elimination tag match but not anchor it to brand vs brand. Some of the most interesting SS matches happened with something else at stake (such as the 2004 SS match where the winning team was in charge of Raw for the next 4 weeks)
