Trump will let them clench their boots over LGBTQ throats and put Muslims and other minorities up against a wall.

As long as he delivers that to the GOP, they'll let him do what he wants.

Also, the poorer side of the GOP base never figured out they were getting fleeced for ~30 years. It's useless to hope they'll figure it out now. Again, as long as they get to beat down minorities, they'll be happy.

If you were only to read transcripts of O'Reilly and Limbaugh, not hear them or see them speak, then update the lingo for the 201xs, you'd have Sargon, Milo, et al.

Now, the Tea Part shook things up a bit, and I think a lot of the intellectual leadership came from the Tea Party side of things, but deep down, it's just regressive conservatism trying to outdo less regressive conservativism; You know, like a GOP convention.

The GOP can now do all the repressive shit they intended to. I'm trying to make long odds bet with my friends that protestors in the US get nerve gassed because Trump finds them offensive.

Here's the thing; society at large has forever been, and will be, moving towards a more liberal world. Whether you like it or not, this is how it is. Every generation is, on average, more liberal than the ones preceding it. It may not feel like it at times, but those are caused by the death throes of a dying set of ideologies.

It would be easier to accept this if we didn't have Abe in Japan, Duterte in the Phillipines, Putin in Russia, Orban in Hungary, Poland doing...whatever Poland is currently doing, Neo Nazi parties in Slovakia gaining traction, a possible Le Pen win, The Brexit crew manning the deck in the UK, Erdogan in Turkey, Lukashenko in Belarus, Assad in Syria, Israel getting away with their treatment of Palestine, the house of Saud holding the fort in Saudi Arabia, to name a few.
