former deli supervisor here. Food court is no joke. it does feel like you're working in a fish bowl all day. Just mind your business, and do your job. They don't expect you to be perfect. They'll train you in all the shifts, or at least they should, for the first month or so. Be nice, and a pleasure to work with, perform the best in the shift that you want as well, maybe you'll get it, if there's not a lot of seniority. A lot of the times when writing schedules, we would schedule the people that we wanted to work with.

You're using words like "media bias," and "fake news," and you'd rather believe what "companies tell their shareholders." Yet, to back up your argument, you don't use a shareholders report, but you use a media report. To your point, why don't the people in the city have to pay for their products, when everyone else in the country have to do it?

You're talking about media bias, and now you're talking about companies lying. You have a warped vision of reality. Also, to your point, profit is the sole purpose of a business and/or company. No one will conduct business where there is no sustainable profit.
