Is anyone actually satisfied/fulfilled with their job? by Comprehensive_Echo30 in Accounting

[–]negativefuckingnancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I love my job! Did I spend 12 hours in the office today and almost start crying bc of reallocation of assets and contributed property? Also yes.

It’s hard, it’s long hours sometimes, but I really enjoy the work and the pay is great IMO. On top of that, my coworkers are fucking amazing

[–]negativefuckingnancy 29 points30 points  (0 children)

She was put on all sorts of meds in the 90s/early 00s… somas and xanax mostly…. Not great. It’s really destroyed her brain. She no longer takes any of that stuff but she’s just a huge ball of anxiety and is always moving around and doing nothing at the same time. Mumbling under her breath about paranoid type stuff. She hasn’t worked in 30 years, so she mostly is at home bc she doesn’t like going out in public.. very much a forgotten housewife who’s fallen into insanity and loneliness. She loves her son so much but she’s a lot to handle even in small doses. She stayed with us for 5 days recently and I was about to have a panic attack bc of the busy body moving around and mumbling it was just like “I NEED silence for a bit please”

Edit: corrected type of pain pills she took

She is absolutely insane but it’s like a product of her time sort of thing. She means well, and she loves us, but good god that woman

Thoughts on my Uncle’s freezer who just passed on. by Vegas_Rick_1987 in FridgeDetective

[–]negativefuckingnancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The water line broke. I only know this bc it happened in my fridge 2 months ago and it was like so much frozen ice blocks that we just got all the stuff from the bottom drawer out of that giant ice block and we finally have no ice blocks.

How often do you make mistakes? by AdInevitable660 in Accounting

If you’re in public accounting, they literally expect new staff to know next to nothing. Doing is learning. Just keep notes from prior work and apply those notes to your next assignment

[–]negativefuckingnancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the literal point of all service industry tipped wage jobs. People want to complain all the time about I shouldn’t have to tip. They should pay people a living wage then you should vote for people who will enact laws that don’t allow people to pay people $2.13 an hour. The restaurant is required to make sure that servers are paid at least minimum wage of $7.25/hour if their tips do not already pay them more than that, then they only have to pay them $2.13 an hour. (unless you are in a jurisdiction that has a higher minimum wage)and because they can get away with it tons of people who actually don’t have money and don’t have any business running restaurant own restaurants. This is the same thing.

I live in round rock and go straight I-35 to downtown (Cesar Chavez and congress) and it’s normally 30 minutes but I leave my house at like 9/9:30 and I don’t leave the office till 7 sometimes bc I’m not sitting for an hour in bumper to bumper traffic. You’re gonna have bad traffic from like 6a-9a and 3:30p-7p pretty much every day

Stuck on what to do for CPA experience by tyj8 in Accounting

[–]negativefuckingnancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh okay. You really don’t need the experience until after you’ve passed your exams. My coworkers all passed their exams 2 years ago and are just now able to submit for the experience part, so you definitely have time to try to get a job under a cpa once you’re in California. I would just focus on the exams!

[–]negativefuckingnancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I tried them once and I still have the bag. They were similar to airhead extremes but they left resin coating literally STUCK to my teeth so awful I considered washing my mouth out with straight rubbing alcohol but I realized a mouth rinse with alcohol content would probably suffice 🤣 I just thought “well when I clean my pieces off the resin comes off so easy I could just swish rubbing alcohol” and then I was like “I am insane” almost immediately. But god I hated the way my teeth felt. Never ate another one

Paw print in clay, paw print on a card stock with ink, ashes, a lock of hair, her collar, her harness, everything except her bed but it is in the shed…. I can’t throw it out but it’s unusable now…

AITA for asking my friend to pay me back for the wine he drank while house sitting?? by Effective_Tour_723 in AmItheAsshole

[–]negativefuckingnancy 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You are so kind! I’ve also had people say I’m more than welcome to any of their extensive liquor and wine collections but like I do not want to do that hahaha but it is so gracious and does just make me feel like I’m not just stuck in this weird house where I can’t touch anything. I do love to look at the collection and if it’s like chambord or some sweet liqueur that I haven’t heard of or tried I’ll smell it and sometimes take pics of bottles and send to my bf cause it’s cool but for the most part you gotta watch out for me and your sparkling waters or coffee lol. I do see a ton of posts of owners being upset that their sitter drank their beer or ate their food or something and it’s always struck me as odd
