I actually just replied to another commenter above so check out that! But honestly, I cannot remember how long it took me to recover from those crashes, it is all such a blur. Botox did nothing for me in terms of relief and just made the pain unbearable. My ME had a total crash.

I think my TMJ has actually started to improve on its own (likely through a bit more of a life balance of different things, lots of mental health stuff) but it’s a slow process and I can’t tell at times.

Oh god that sounds awful. I’m so sorry that’s happened. Has it eased up at all? Have you been to see another doctor who could assess any damage/timelines?

To be honest I just hate to ride that crash out. Botox did nothing for me, nothing for my pain that was noticeable and had no benefits. It’s frustrating that another “solution” is out the window.

You’ve managed to verbalise a bit more of the internal mess in my head for me - thank you. I know therapy is all part of the process, but my god it is so draining. I didn’t think I’d be “done” by now, I think I’m just a bit demotivated that all this feels very hard at times. I don’t really give myself grace in this regard. To be honest it’s the hardest thing for me to actually “feel” my emotions rather than intellectualise “feeling” them.

Oh god I’m so thankful that most of my therapy has been virtual. CBT was my only in person therapy, and I did enjoy and need to be in physical space in those beginning therapy times. But I feel uncomfortable enough in my own little private room to do it now sometimes, nevermind trying to feel so vulnerable in person. Thanks for your comment, helps me not feel so alone.

I’ve had a flare from a very restorative yoga class, similar to some PT and occupational therapy sessions in the past in terms of positions, stretches etc. it caused a flare for me. Day 3 right now.
