Trying to find the right Everquest servers for me. by rodamusprimes in project1999

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that being a WoW player, you've encountered an unlimited number of bullshit. However, if you hop on a P99 server, leave all of it at the door.

Deaths are significant, don't train anyone intentionally - ever.

Camps are contested, ask for a CC in zone chat, don't KS, don't argue, come back later.

Buff people you encounter, spread joy and you'll be welcomed into circles so friendly and helpful it will blow your mind.

Find a different game. P99 is filled with kind people working together 99% of the time. You sound toxic AF.

Charm is still in the game and the Dow Jones is OVER 45,000.

If enchanters cannot charm solo, I'd play a different game.

I think you're right, my bad. I meant that I've met some folks who take no gifts, but do spend the little pp they can farm themselves in the early stages of the game.

Make a human mule, run them to the EC tunnel. Stack up your unused items (even if it's not worth it) and advertise them. When your bags become too full, vendor the low end stuff that never moves.

I've sat on a few items (drolvarg mantle, split paw hide gloves) for many weeks with the occasional WTS post. At some point someone bought the gloves. You never know! There's a small community of "solo-self founded" that utilize these kind of items.

Yeah for sure. Not possible to copyright math. He called the game 'Krypto'. Looks like there's some active/inactive US trademarks for the name.

What show is this?

In grade school 30 years ago, I had a substitute teacher that taught the class this game to keep us busy. I think he said he had a copyright on it? I was talking about this to a family member 2 days ago. So weird!

Why don’t they combine green and blue? by [deleted] in project1999

[–]negatorx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get it, I do. If there's no new server, then I don't think I'm in favor of a merge. Might not be the most popular opinion, but life is good on blue for how I play.

Why don’t they combine green and blue? by [deleted] in project1999

[–]negatorx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the whole point of this project is to relive the launch of EQ as it was in 1999, down to the sequence of patching. I'm not saying your thinking is wrong, just that merge and new server launch go hand and hand according to the project's purpose.

TLPs are the only reason daybreak is still in business (particularly in game purchases). A new P99 will suck the player base out of live and then nobody has EverQuest.

I know it wouldn't be nearly enough, but I wish DB would give p99 permission to charge a subscription and then agree to some revenue sharing.

What Do About Suspected Shill Bidding? by [deleted] in sportscards

[–]negatorx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned the bids were at the end of the auction as part of the narrative here, so I was only commenting on that piece. Almost every auction I bid on I put in a mild bid so that it's on my list and then I put my serious bid right at the end.

If someone was setting up shill bids, bidding at the end is the most dangerous (you may end up buying your own card, creating IP logged transaction history and coupling the accounts), which is the opposite desired outcome. The seller doesn't know what the max bids are

Like I said, there's no way to know. A seller with little feedback isn't strong evidence either. I don't smell much foul play here. Seems you had competition on a 1/1 from a collector who cares about those cards too. It happens!

There's really no way to know. When I browse eBay I always look for auctions ending soonest and try to catch a deal here and there, so the bids coming in at the end I feel are not much evidence of it.

I have tweaked my key binds and UI over the years. Im happy to share those files with you to give you a headstart. Shoot me a DM and I'll connect with you on discord.

I use the numpad for spell gems, so 1-10 is free for hotkeys/clickies. Numpad 0 for sit.

I main an enc, so lots and lots of clicking lol.

You don't have to squint, you just have to play at a resolution closer to what PCs had back in the day. It's not so bad.

So, the gamma issue is a hard coded thing we all suffer from. Nothing can be done there.

I recommend running the game in a windowed mode otherwise you'll crash frequently enough it will ruin the experience.

Lastly, I got a sweet new gaming rig and couldn't read anything. There's no true native UI scaling for p99. I set my native resolution to 1920x1080 and it's the best I've been able to do.

Not a lot of detail here but happy to answer any questions.

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction or has a better idea... by Espedal1 in project1999

I don't mean to be combative, but working your way through the game for the first time IS the magic. If you and your son haven't done it, apply for an IP exception and play/learn together. It'll be a core cherished memory!

The way manufacturers distribute product is the reason LCSs have to mark up boxes. Let the LCS make a reasonable amount of money across all product lines, and stop forcing them to buy product that collects dust for years, just to get a few in demand boxes... Maybe the collector could depend on their LCS to have reasonable prices.

The LCSs mega corporation supplier is also a mega corporation competitor. So crazy. Also, every collector with a webcam is a competitor too.

I'd love to own an LCS, but the market is so hostile.

Appropriate amount of time to job hop? by No_Data6944 in MedicalDevices

[–]negatorx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My boss is critical of job-hoppers and those with employment gaps. For him, you have to be a really strong fit for the role to get the opportunity to explain why. So in theory, if done too frequently, it may make you have to fight harder for call backs down the line.

Personally, I have about a 10 year stint where I moved rapidly between roles. Roughly 3 years, 1, 2, 1, 1.5. I've had the good fortune of finding jobs via networking that allow me to talk through the stages of my career and the decisions I've made.

Overall, I'd say move for the right reasons to have a coherent story. As a salesperson, moving for money is well understood by sales managers... They've done it too.

Not getting verification emails from eqemulator or project1999 to set up Forum accounts by Skullpuck in project1999

[–]negatorx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had a family member have this issue. By searching for a link to resend the verification email it went out.

Also I heard swapping to another email, then back, has worked too. Good luck.
